This position is for a senior level Engineer that will work in the Intervention Group at our Air Center Technology & Training Facility. This role will primarily focus on Thru Tubing Tools, but may also require some collaboration with the Fishing Tools group as well. This role requires a background in downhole tools with a strong emphasis on product development, stress analysis, lab testing, and field testing. With regards to product support, it will include creating new designs, making modifications to existing designs, and being a technical support point of contact for existing designs in our production and operation facilities. This candidate will be a trusted team member of the NOV Design Team that has previous applicable downhole tool engineering design experience.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop new technology with new and novel concepts
- Participate in patent process with NOV IP Department as needed to develop patents to completion
- Assist with the shop assembly and testing of tools as required
- Implement the use of FEA/CFD software for analysis where appropriate
- Conduct failure analysis of components/tools utilizing FEA/CFD and give recommendations for improvement
- Create job requests as needed, and participate in internal discussions with the corporate FEA/CFD team
- Perform engineering calculations related to a specific design or analytical projects.
- Develop accurate and complete documentation of data and projects in a timely manner
- Create and disseminate technical manuals, quality alerts, and presentations
- Create complete detailed drawing packages utilizing accepted GD&T standards
- Always demonstrate sound engineering decision making
- Complete Engineering Change Orders when required following prescribed NOV procedures
- Manage multiple projects using NOV's structured Engineering Management System and create report outs as needed
- Manage and monitor budget constraints as it relates to active projects
- Collaborate with all downhole groups to manage projects from concept through completion
- Work well with other team members and groups
- Mentor other junior level engineers with all aspects of the design and development process
- Must be willing to occasionally travel as required
- Occasional hands-on field testing of tools as required
- Must have a commitment to HSE and risk management in everything that they do
- All other duties as assigned by Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
- PMP (Project Management Certification) a plus
- Minimum 15+ years of experience with Downhole Tools
- Thru Tubing, CT BHA components, motors, Jars/Intensifier, shock tools, and Catch/Remedial tool knowledge is a plus
- Field experience in well intervention and servicing of field run tools is a plus
