Job Description

I. Job Summary

WM is in the process of rapidly scaling its Renewable Energy business. The newly formed Product Owner (PO) role will be accountable for scaling a Hartigen/ Trellis ETRM platform for power and gas trading. Take ownership of the end-to-end program leading functional, technical and data integration tracks. The PO will work alongside Corporate Operations and on-the-ground field leadership to identify improvement opportunities in both technology & process. They will own the roadmap for relevant technologies. They will oversee the development & deployment of technologies & processes to capitalize on the identified opportunities, ensuring they meet or exceed the targeted outcomes. The PO will manage the relationship with the respective Hartigen/Trellis vendor teams and be responsible for enhancing the platforms to meet WM's needs. Expertise in data architecture and data integration is essential along proven ability to interface with business stakeholder in the renewable energy trading sector. Understanding of invoicing, contracting and settlement processes is a plus.

This position is hybrid (part-time at the corporate office and part-time from a home office) and does require the employee to reside in Houston, Texas.

II. Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.

• Build, maintain, socialize the product roadmap
o Direct ongoing tactical execution of roadmap deliverables
o Own strategic investment planning and product lifecycle governance processes
o Manage P&L for product
• Drive ideation and hypothesis-led problem-solving to generate step change improvements for operations
• Own & manage critical product KPIs, including stakeholder communication thereof
o Time - milestones
o Scope - requirements
o Cost - investment
o Risk - challenges
o Return - value
• Drive end-to-end operational excellence and product resiliency from product delivery through product retirement, extracting maximum value
• Own product decision-making framework and final approvals for product capabilities, including escalation to senior leadership and cross-product functions, as needed
o Capture, score, and implement business feature and technical backlog requests, ensuring risk-based prioritization methods
• Collect, prioritize, and document business requirements and develop project charters to drive project initiation
• Research industry trends and competitor analyses to inform future product goals / vision and possible commercialization opportunities
• Instill, reinforce, & coach best practices for SaaS purchases, bespoke tool development, SaaS management, etc.
• Provide oversight, coaching and leadership of product teams, including deliverable reviews, issue resolution, and training
• Collaborate with other teams and Field management (Area business leaders) to implement and manage programs developed and delivered, as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

III. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in computer science or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant experience.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years previous experience in the development and delivery of innovation and optimization tools.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Operational leadership experience
