Are you passionate about making a difference in environmental performance? Join our Environment Team in the HSSE department as an Environmental Advisor! This pivotal role is your chance to drive continuous improvement and lead our environmental reporting efforts.

As the company focal point on environmental performance and reporting, you'll collaborate with internal data providers and subject matter experts to showcase our progress towards environmental objectives and targets. We're looking for a proactive individual who can engage the organization and ensure accurate, timely data reporting in line with evolving requirements. Take the lead and help us achieve our environmental goals!

Activities

As the Environmental Advisor, you will act as the primary contact for environmental performance and reporting within the company. You will liaise with internal data providers and subject matter experts to gather and consolidate environmental data, ensuring its accuracy and timeliness. Your role involves coordinating and inputting this data into the company-wide environmental reporting system and subsequently sharing the performance reports internally and to external partners.

You will engage with various departments to ensure compliance with the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (EU-CSRD) and other relevant regulations.

Additionally, you will monitor and report on the affiliate's environmental performance, both internally and externally, and collaborate with the Environment Team and HSSE Department. Driving improvements in safety, operational efficiency, and OPEX to meet Group standards will be essential.

These areas of responsibilities will include tasks such as:

Focal Point on Environmental Performance and Reporting:
  • Collect and enter data for routine and ad-hoc environmental reporting to headquarters, partners and when needed environmental authorities.
  • Review changes to data from env. team Subject Matter Expert and/or data provider and request evidence on changes to operations/activities resulting in data variation.
  • Maintain constant contact with headquarters on new reporting requirements and areas requiring their support to ensure compliance with referential reporting requirements.
  • Ensure sufficient documentation and traceability of all data received and used for reporting and resulting reports.
  • Act as the affiliate's focal point for the headquarters reporting tool Pl@net, including the coordination of any internal or third-party environmental reporting audits and the ownership and update of the associated environmental reporting procedures.
  • Support the environment manager in the review and communication on environmental performance against annual targets and input into the affiliate's performance dashboards or those of other departments, including the analysis of trends in the data.
  • Daily review of environmental incident reports in Synergi, including those of hydrocarbon or chemical spills, high OIW discharges or gas releases with the help of the Senior Safety Advisor - HSE reporting.

Support on forecasting Environmental KPIs:
  • Support the Long-Term Plan process with tax-liable CO2, Methane and GHG emissions for projects, hub baselines and Carbon Footprint Reduction initiatives.
  • Collect and review input data from production support, subsurface, drilling, logistics, environment Subject Matter Experts and Carbon Footprint Reduction and then complete the HSE Long Term Plan and Business Unit input sheet based on calculated emissions, discharges and other required KPIs.
  • Prepare and update the associated Long-Term Plan and Business Unit output graphs including commenting on the changes in data and variation against previous forecasts.
  • Provide updated annual closing forecasts for all requested KPIs throughout the year with sufficient justification and deep dives on changes in values
  • Maintain contact with HQ and ensure access to HSE Shuttle to allow upload of the Business Unit & Long-Term Plan input files and download of output tables.
  • Provide emissions data to economics (Long-Term Plan), finance (Business Unit) and commercial (Long-Term Plan & Business Unit) in due time to prepare their associated models and dashboards.

Candidate Profile

Who we are looking for
  • University Degree in a technical field, preferably in environmental science or similar.
  • Experience in oil and gas industry, ESG reporting or environmental management preferred.
  • Strong data management and organizational skills.
  • An analytical thinker with a problem-solving approach, and great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possession of a safety mindset and address the job with a strong understanding of the business and people.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain current BOSIET certificate and offshore medical - the jobholder is encouraged to travel offshore as part of their duties to participate in audits and expand their general understanding of Oil & Gas operations.
