NES Fircroft have partnered with dynamic engineering and environmental consultancy operating across Australia. Our client provides innovative solutions across water management, civil and geotechnical design, environmental management, approvals, rehabilitation/remediation, and ecology projects.

About the Role:
We are seeking a Associate/Principal Ecologist with 7-8 years of experience to join a dedicated, passionate and entrepreneurial team in Brisbane, Toowoomba or Gold Coast. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth and development of our Ecology Discipline in Queensland. This unique position offers opportunities for technical leadership or a secondary leadership role, collaborating with the Ecology Lead to expand the team's presence across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, plan, and execute ecological investigations, including baseline surveys, monitoring programs, regional ecosystem classification, and fauna assessments.
  • Conduct data analysis, mapping, and impact assessments.
  • Prepare and review technical reports such as investigation reports, ecological management plans, and impact assessments.
  • Manage ecology projects and foster client relationships.
  • Scope, prepare, and lead proposals.
  • Support the well-being, development, and resourcing of team members.
  • Participate actively in business development initiatives.
Requirements:
  • 7-8 years of relevant ecological experience in Queensland, preferably in industry, consulting, or government.
  • Experience leading ecological fieldwork and monitoring programs.
  • Class C open license required; experience with 4WD desirable.
  • Ability to travel and work remotely as needed for work.
  • Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data management systems preferred.
