  • Provide HSE Guidance to projects to enable the projects meet or exceed their targets.
  • Work with project management teams and clients and assist the construction effort in applying the most effective HSE plan to completion and lead the execution of that plan in accordance with the corporate and area guidelines and operating standards
  • Manage and implement audit programmes
  • Perform subcontractor HSE screening process and documentation
  • Responsible for development and implementation of specific, measurable goals with defined timelines
  • Main Duties of the Jobholder

    1. Seek guidance from the HSE Manager as appropriate before making critical and important decisions
    2. Provide direction to project team and make decisions in pursuit of the project and facility HSE goals and objectives.
    3. Perform/Facilitate Project Hazid Study(s)
    4. Develop and implement Project HSE Pan(s)
    5. Develop and implement Project specific HSE Procedures
    6. Solicit ideas from the team members in order to overcome any difficulties that may be encountered during the Implementation of the of the project, review and implement lessons learnt from prior projects
    7. Manage daily health, safety and environmental business activities, supervise activities of HSE staff assigned to the project
    8. Provide HSE guidance and leadership to management team and team leaders
    9. Perform Incident Investigation and ensure appropriate case management of incidents
    10. Develop, manage and present project specific HSE Orientations and Training programs.
    11. Conduct onsite and offsite HSE audits as required
    12. Audit Subcontractors and Monitor their performance.
    13. Accountable for integrity of all Project HSE data, record keeping and administrative reporting in accordance with company and client policy
    14. Ensure that employees receive prompt and complete medical attention and assists in the return to work process of injured employees
    15. Monitor environmental issues and advise management and field staff on environmental obligations
    16. Have a sound knowledge of Statutory HSE Regulations, industry HSE standards and ensure their correct Implementation
    17. Ensure company HSE policies and procedures are implemented consistently and effectively, and are known and understood by all employees.
    18. Install any revisions to procedures as directed by the HSE Manager or designate.
    19. Co-ordinate all inter-related matters between the HSE Committee, the Management Committee and Line Management.
    20. Liaise on a regular basis with fabrication medical personnel.
    21. Monitor the results and quality of TRA’s and Trend Analysis Reports.
    22. Provide meaningful advice to line-management on HSE matters including legislative and industry standards.
    23. Foster an environment for building team morale and build consensus within the team.
    24. Clearly delegate actions and responsibilities and define deliverable requirements in terms of both scope and schedule to team members
    25. Demonstrate good planning and organisation in day to day activities.
    26. Attend project HSE meetings, arrive fully prepared and informed to provide answers to questions raised during the meeting.
