Primary Purpose
Manage and direct the efforts of Company subject matter experts to meet Company compliance and operational objectives. Identify critical issues that could impact the utilities and develops strategies to address those issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and direct the efforts of Company subject matter experts to meet environmental regulatory, Company and operational responsibilities and compliance objectives.
- Provide regulatory, legislative and project analysis and determinations for applicable environmental laws and requirements.
- Establish relationships and routinely meets with regulatory agencies (Federal, State and Local) to advocate company positions and negotiate favorable requirements.
- Identify critical issues that could impact the utilities and develop strategies to address those issues.
- Supervise the performance and workload of discipline subject matter experts.
- Conduct the review and research on utility industry trends in meeting the requirements of new and existing environmental regulations.
- Provide environmental training, oversight and governance of tools, programs and standards to manage environmental risk.
- Provide employee and team support through coaching, developing and mentoring.
- Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Engineering, environmental, related field or equivalent training and experience. Required
- Master's Degree Master's degree in engineering or environmental studies is highly desirable. Preferred
Experience
- 7 years - Related professional experience, preferably in a lead or supervisory capacity. Required
- 3 years - Experience with establishing relationships with local, state, and federal jurisdictions, public agencies and private environmental firms. Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to work in a fast paced and an extremely dynamic work environment. Advanced
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills required. Advanced
- Must have strong analytical and decision making skills in order to interpret laws, regulation, and policies. Advanced
- Must be highly knowledgeable of a gas and electric utility's operating methods and the conditions facing a business operating in a regulated environment. Intermediate
- Additional environmental or policy knowledge for specific environmental discipline may be required. Intermediate
