Your Role

Energy Transition and Utilities is the largest sector in Capgemini Invent's private portfolio, with a dominant brand position across all our five subsectors - Nuclear, Water, Networks, Energy Retail and Energy Transition.

As part of our ongoing growth, we are seeking a talented, proactive professional with 2-5 years' experience in consulting and/or wider industry to join our Nuclear team. The UK is in the process of transitioning towards low-carbon energy generation, and nuclear power will form a major part of our future energy mix. You should come with either some experience of, or a strong interest in, working in the nuclear sector, and you should have a firm grasp of the major challenges facing the industry, as well as a clear ambition to work towards overcoming these hurdles.

At Capgemini Invent, our Nuclear team is a diverse mix of engineers, business consultants, industry experts, and information and technology specialists who are passionate about bringing Capgemini's digital transformation expertise to our nuclear clients. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the UK's most high-profile nuclear projects which span the full nuclear lifecycle, including fuels, new build, commissioning, operations, waste management, and/or decommissioning.

Through your work, you will develop a deep understanding of how digital technologies and methodologies can be deployed into the context of nuclear to improve operations and project delivery by adopting cross-sector best practices. You will be working collaboratively with our nuclear clients at all levels of their organisations and across all stages of their project lifecycles.

In this role, you will:

Leverage our team's understanding of the specific context of our nuclear clients to utilise the breadth and depth of our world-class cross-sector expertise in the work we do
Draw on the experience you have gained so far, either in the nuclear sector or other relevant sectors, to develop new ideas on how to deliver value for our nuclear clients

Work on projects for our nuclear clients, where you will:

  • Demonstrate delivery excellence at all stages of the project lifecycle, including defining project scope and objectives, facilitating workshops to define and prioritise requirements, managing key relationships with senior client representatives and driving teams forward towards agreed outcomes
  • Take ownership of workstreams when required, potentially leading small teams within large transformation programmes
  • Identify, understand, articulate and monitor risks at the delivery, project, and programme levels
  • Help to build client strategies and business/investment cases, as well as project delivery plans and delivery roadmaps
  • Help to define future business and organisation models that combine an integrated view of people, technology and information priorities.

Additionally, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and to your own personal growth through activities in the following categories:

  • Business Development

Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events

  • Internal Contribution

Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development

  • Learning & Development

Experience gained on nuclear projects, and training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

Your Profile

  • You collaborate and communicate well with others, building and maintaining strong networks and working effectively both within teams as well as in leadership positions
  • You thrive in fast-paced, high-performing environments and drive excellence in project delivery, holding yourself to the highest of standards and setting an example for your peers
  • You have a proactive 'growth' mindset and enjoy identifying and articulating opportunities to leadership
  • Currently working in management consulting, or delivering a relevant role in the nuclear (or similar) industry with an interest in developing management consultancy skills
  • Demonstrable interest in and/or experience of the nuclear sector, including an understanding of the major challenges facing the industry and an ability to articulate these
  • Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in shaping and delivering consulting solutions
  • Experience of proposition building and delivery on nuclear infrastructure projects
