ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Advanced Product Development Quality Assurance Engineer at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge aerospace products. Your expertise in Avionics, Aviation Software, or Aerospace Quality Assurance will be instrumental in shaping the future of aviation technology.

You will report directly to our Sr Certification Engr Manager and you'll work out of our Deer Valley, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance in aviation product development.
  • Define and implement quality assurance processes, driving continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to assess compliance with customer, military, and regulatory standards such as AS9100/AS9115, DO-178, DO-254, and ARP4754A.
  • Conduct audits at Honeywell Aerospace sites and supplier locations to verify process adherence.
  • Interface with external customers and regulatory personnel, supporting site-level assessments.
  • Provide guidance to engineering and project management teams on design and development compliance.
  • Align supplier quality organizations with Honeywell and customer expectations.
  • Travel occasionally (up to 5% domestic travel) as needed.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Avionics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in an engineering development role (e.g., Systems, Software, Hardware, Firmware) OR 6+ years in a quality assurance role within aerospace or similar highly regulated industry.

WE VALUE

  • Strong ability to evaluate and follow processes, ensuring compliance.
  • Self-starter with excellent initiative, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with global teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience as an auditor is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as DO-178, DO-254, DO-160, AS9100, AS9115, ARP-4754A.
  • Ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to various audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring engineering development activities to ensure quality.
