This position reports to

Your role and responsibilities

Deploys and leads the quality strategy for a local organizational unit, including quality culture, systems, tools, and competent teams, with the aim to achieve and exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Drives the local quality system through the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems. Coordinates the efforts of all necessary local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance. Ensures that the necessary certification requirements are met throughout the organization. Deploys and leads strategy and objectives for quality management in line with the quality management system, quality policy, and local strategy. Influences and consults with management within the local ABB unit to innovatively shape the design and development of their functional area to improve the organization's overall performance. Supports the management to demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the quality management system. Ensures appropriate internal and external communication relevant to quality management system. Implements short, medium- and long-term strategy, activities, and plans to develop the quality management system, based on identified risks and opportunities, in collaboration and agreement with the local management team. Establishes a closed-loop quality cycle from product development to customer experience feedback to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met. Executes an effective audit program to assess compliance with the defined system. Uses quality data analytics from the organization to identify risks, failures, and non-conformances. Works within ABB local organizational units/functions to prevent mistakes and defects in products and avoid problems when delivering solutions or services to customers. Drives the vision for zero defects and establishes mechanisms to ensure that requirements from ABB, customers, and stakeholders are fulfilled, focusing on prevention rather than only control. Acts as a local process owner/sponsor for the assigned processes, systems, or tools, including defining and documenting plans, implementing and communicating actions, supervising and controlling progress, and driving continuous process improvement. Ensures customer-focused quality management, achieving high effectiveness in terms of customer satisfaction and efficiency in cost management, including processes and tools to ensure flawless and repeatable process execution, identifying gaps, and exploring opportunities for improvement. Partners with local functions to ensure voice-of-the-customer is represented at the local unit, professional quality management concepts are used to ensure the best possible product and process design quality, and that risks, problems, and solutions are evaluated from a customer/stakeholder point of view. Drives resolution of customer cases to completion, following robust root cause analysis and implementing preventive and corrective actions. Assists the organization in achieving desired strategic and operational results through the means of the quality management system. Ensures quality-related systems and tools are effective in meeting customer and shareholder expectations. Ensures benchmarking within the industry, inside and outside ABB, to continuously challenge the status quo and further develop the organizational self-perception. Drives initiatives to improve on agreed aspects of quality in collaboration with local units and across multiple units or functions as applicable. Ensures effective and efficient review of quality management system by local leadership to sustain its continuing suitability, adequacy, effectiveness, and alignment with the strategic direction of the organization and to identify opportunities for improvement.
