The Vacancy

We are looking for an experienced Gas Operations Manager to lead our gas safety and compliance services. This is a key role within our organisation, ensuring that all gas related work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory requirements.

As the Duty Holder for our Gas Safe Registration, you will oversee the management of gas servicing, repairs, and installations across our portfolio, which includes approximately 17,500 domestic properties and 40 commercial or communal sites. You will also be responsible for managing a budget of around £3 million and leading a team of supervisors, inspectors, and technicians.

About the role

You will be responsible for delivering a compliant and cost-effective service, ensuring that all work meets regulatory standards and aligns with our policies. This includes:
  • Managing a team of direct labour operatives and external contractors
  • Overseeing domestic, communal, and commercial gas heating and hot water servicing, repairs, and installations
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including Gas Safe requirements
  • Monitoring performance, productivity, and quality assurance across all gas-related workstreams
  • Managing budgets and ensuring value for money in service delivery
  • Providing technical support and guidance to colleagues and contractors

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • At least two years' experience delivering gas-related services in a social housing setting
  • Experience as a Gas Safe Registration Holder or Duty Holder
  • Strong financial management skills, with experience managing budgets and forecasts
  • Experience managing contractors and ensuring high-quality service delivery
  • A recognised health and safety qualification, such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or SMSTS
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce reports and engage with stakeholders

Desirable qualifications
  • ACS accreditation and Gas Safe Registration for domestic and commercial elements
  • Level 4 VRQ in Gas Safety Management in Social Housing

Location/Area of Work: This role is based out of our High Wycombe office but covers a wide area, specifically targeting postcode patches including Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, and surrounding regions.
