Summary

Smart Communications is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Vice President of Global Demand Generation to drive pipeline growth across Enterprise markets, including Financial Services, Healthcare, Public Sector, and Insurance. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will lead a globally distributed team across demand generation, ABM, digital, partner marketing, BDRs, and regional marketing. Your focus will be on developing and executing a comprehensive demand generation strategy that leverages digital, account-based, field, and partner marketing channels.

Success will be measured by your ability to drive consistent pipeline growth, optimize marketing investments, and effectively engage C-suite decision-makers. As a cross-functional leader, you will work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product Marketing, Industry Marketing, Product, and Global Channel & Alliances to ensure alignment and maximize impact.

With 15+ years of global B2B SaaS marketing experience, you bring a proven track record in driving demand generation, with deep expertise in ABM, digital marketing, and partner marketing, while inspiring your teams to perform at their highest levels. The responsibilities of the role include:
Strategic Leadership and Campaign Management:
  • Develop and Execute Multi-Channel Campaigns: Design and manage high-impact marketing campaigns across SEO, SEM, display, email, social, and other digital channels, driving pipeline and revenue growth.
  • Lead Account-Based Marketing (ABM): Collaborate with Business Development Representatives (BDRs) and Sales teams to create personalized outreach for targeted enterprise accounts, improving engagement and conversion.
  • Customer Expansion and Cross-Sell: Implement programs and events that drive customer expansion, cross-sell opportunities, and deeper product adoption within the existing customer base.
  • Product and Vertical Marketing Strategies: Design and execute integrated marketing strategies tailored to key industries, including Financial Services, Healthcare, Public Sector and Insurance.
  • Optimize Funnel Performance: Leverage 6sense Qualified Accounts (6QAs) to identify high-intent accounts, improve conversion rates, and accelerate funnel velocity. Apply demand waterfall concepts to manage lead progression.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze and report on marketing funnel performance, including metrics like CTA, conversion rates, influence, customer acquisition cost (CAC), and customer lifetime value (CLV)

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Strategic Partnerships: Partner with Product Marketing, Vertical Marketing, Brand & Communications, Global Events, Product Management, Sales, IT, and Customer Success to enhance marketing reach and efficiency.
  • Go-to-Market Alignment: Work with Sales and Product teams to develop industry-specific messaging and go-to-market approaches that align with customer needs and market trends.
  • Integrated Product Strategies: Collaborate closely with Product Management to align marketing strategies with product capabilities, positioning, and vertical market opportunities.
  • Partner Marketing: Maintain strategic partner relationships, executing co-marketing initiatives to drive brand visibility and pipeline growth.

Technology and Automation:
  • Marketing Automation Mastery: Manage platforms such as Marketo, Salesforce, 6Sense, and Demandbase, ensuring scalable and efficient demand generation operations.
  • Real-Time Reporting: Leverage dashboards to demonstrate marketing's revenue impact, optimize budgets, and refine strategies based on performance data.
  • Continuous Optimization: Enhance marketing technology infrastructure to support data-driven decision-making and campaign optimization.

Team Leadership and Development:
  • Inspire High-Performance Teams: Mentor, coach, and develop a geographically diverse team, providing clear career development paths.
  • Strategic Planning and Budgeting: Lead planning and budgeting for demand generation, product marketing, and vertical marketing activities, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Culture of Excellence: Foster a high-performance culture, encouraging innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for:
Marketing Leadership:
  • Over 15 years of experience in B2B SaaS marketing, including a proven track record in global demand generation, with 5-7 years of leadership experience specifically focused on Demand Generation within the B2B SaaS or enterprise software sector.
  • Expertise in multi-channel marketing strategies, including ABM, digital marketing, events, content strategy, SEO, SEM, display, and partner marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling demand generation functions across product lines and industry verticals.
  • Demonstrated leadership in B2B Marketing or Revenue Marketing for PE-backed, publicly traded, or late-stage VC-backed companies throughout their career.
  • Regional experience: UK, EMEA, North America, and APAC.

Analytical and Strategic Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of marketing funnel metrics, including conversion rates, lead quality, customer acquisition cost (CAC), and customer lifetime value (CLV).
  • Advanced experience with demand waterfall concepts and data-driven performance optimization.
  • Proven ability to analyze campaign performance and make data-driven decisions to enhance marketing effectiveness.

Technology Proficiency:
  • Mastery of marketing automation platforms and analytics tools, including Marketo, Salesforce, 6Sense, and Demandbase.
  • Strong understanding of marketing technology infrastructure and the ability to implement scalable processes.
  • Experience leveraging AI-driven insights (6QAs) to target high-intent accounts and align sales and marketing efforts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams (Product Marketing, Vertical Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product Management, IT) to drive alignment and maximize impact.
  • Experience managing external agencies and optimizing partner relationships for co-marketing initiatives.

Team Leadership:
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a focus on mentorship, team development, and high-performance culture.
  • Experience leading geographically diverse teams, fostering collaboration, and maintaining alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Proven experience leading Business Development (BDR) teams, including setting and achieving pipeline generation targets, optimizing lead conversion rates, implementing best practices for outbound and inbound prospecting, and driving continuous performance improvements through data-driven coaching, metrics tracking (e.g., SQL attainment, meeting conversion rate, win rate), and strategic alignment with sales.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments while effectively managing multiple priorities, adapting to shifting business needs, maintaining focus on strategic objectives, and driving cross-functional collaboration to achieve measurable results.
