Who We Are

Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the "Company") operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

Who You Are

As a seasoned professional in open pit mining operations, you collaborate closely with Company management, Mine Operations Superintendent, and geologists to optimize production efficiency and safety. With over 5 years of supervisory experience, including operating in challenging terrains, you excel in organizing and leading shift crews to execute precise blast patterns, mining sequences, and equipment maintenance schedules. Your strong safety record and commitment to continuous improvement ensure streamlined operations and effective ore-from-waste separation programs. You bring clarity in communication, high standards of work, and a dedicated focus on maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with company directives.

This is a safety sensitive position. As the Mine Operations Supervisor you report to Mine Operations Superintendent.

What You Do

• Work with Company management to identify experienced equipment operators and organize crews for production mining.
• Work with the Mine Operations Superintendent and the geologists to develop information on ore variability.
• Work with the Mine Operations Superintendent and geologists to develop and implement effective ore-from-waste separation programs for the operation.
• Work with the Mine Operations Superintendent to develop open pit operating parameters such as blast patterns, mining sequences, equipment usage and high wall maintenance.
• Work closely with maintenance personnel to schedule equipment maintenance.
• Prepare shift reports on all facets of the open pit operation.
• Manage one of four rotating shift crews.
• Effectively work with 20+ employees during the shift.
• Ensure that regular safety training of equipment operators takes place and conduct safety meetings with the crew to target a zero level of incidents.
• Comply with all directives issued by Company management on safe operating procedures and safety in general.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an open pit mining environment (Experience operating in steep terrain a plus).
• A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in an open pit mining operation.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze/implement improvements and optimize production.
• Must have a good safety track record.
• Ability to present information in a manner that is clear and understandable.
• Effective communication and solid interpersonal skills.
• High work standards and a professional presence.
• Driver's license required.
• High school diploma or GED.

Salary Description
