Manual Quality Assurance Engineer

Technology is at the centre of BP's Group Strategy. We use our data and technology expertise, to improve efficiency, increase effectiveness and harness the transformational potential of digital technologies and new business models.

In this role You will:

• Innovate, develop, maintain and drive technology outcomes for the mobility & convenience businesses aligned to the global technology strategy
• Be part of a cross-disciplinary team, working closely with other software engineers, product management, UX design, data scientists, data analysts, product managers, data engineers, data managers, and business partners to ensure high-quality software is delivered to our clients
• Develop and complete manual test plans and test cases
• Perform functional, regression, and system testing
• Report defects and work with the development team to resolve issues
• Participate in agile development teams
• Update test documentation and maintain testing standards
• Identify and call out issues that may affect the quality of the application being tested

What You will need to be successful:

• Demonstrable experience in manual testing
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies and software development life cycles (SDLC)
• Experience with manual testing tools (e.g., JIRA, Selenium, etc.)
• Familiarity with web and mobile development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React Native
• Capability in software testing methodologies and tried-and-true methods throughout the software development process, encompassing test automation, test case design, execution, and result analysis
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure for creating and managing test environments
• Knowledge of QA methodologies and practices
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Capability with Relational and NoSQL database systems, understanding how to query, adjust, and optimize for testing requirements
• Proficiency in English language - German is an advantage
