Position Summary

The Vice President of the Med Gas Business Unit is a key member of the MTA Sr Leadership team and is responsible for leading the national sales and service strategy for the Med Gas division. This individual will drive year-over-year revenue and EBITDA growth, ensure delivery of operational excellence, and lead high-performing teams across multiple regions.

The VP will be accountable for achieving business unit financial targets, optimizing gross margin performance, exceeding EBITDA expectations and executing against annual budgets. They will partner cross-functionally with MTA's Support Center to ensure service delivery excellence-spanning scheduling, quoting, reporting, and project execution.

As a people-first leader, this executive will model and champion MTA's core values and foster a collaborative, accountable, and customer-centric culture. The successful candidate will combine commercial acumen, operational expertise, and a passion for talent development to elevate performance and scale the Med Gas business sustainably.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Culture
  • Serve as a visible champion of MTA's core values: Integrity, Communication, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Passion.
  • Inspire a shared vision, setting a clear strategic direction and translating it into actionable goals.
  • Foster a high-performance culture grounded in teamwork, trust, and respect across sales and service teams.
  • Act as a player-coach and mentor, developing strong bench strength and succession plans within the organization.

Sales & Service Execution
  • Lead and develop regional managers and sales teams to achieve and exceed sales and service performance targets.
  • Personally engage in strategic account development and high-impact sales opportunities, especially in key territories.
  • Drive service expansion and penetration within existing accounts while identifying new market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver operational excellence across quoting, scheduling, and customer delivery.
  • Support regional teams with technical guidance, escalation support, and customer engagement as needed.

Financial & Strategic Management
  • Own and deliver the P&L performance for the Med Gas business unit, including revenue growth, gross margin optimization, and EBITDA contribution.
  • Monitor and manage key financial and operational KPIs using a data-driven approach to performance improvement.
  • Partner with the CFO and executive team to execute pricing strategies, cost management initiatives, and revenue forecasting.

Cross-Functional & Corporate Initiatives
  • Lead and contribute to cross-sell initiatives with the Controlled Environment (CE) and Calibration (CAL) divisions.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively participate in the development and deployment of company-wide strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Leverage CRM (NetSuite) and other systems to enhance sales visibility, forecasting accuracy, and reporting.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in sales and/or operations, with a strong track record of driving profitable growth.
  • Healthcare industry experience and medical gas knowledge required.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret and manage P&L statements and key profitability levers.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop geographically dispersed teams.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer relationship skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel to support regional teams and customer engagement as needed.

Travel Requirements

Routine travel to regional locations is required to support, coach, and collaborate with field leadership and customer stakeholders.
