This role will formulate, direct and approve the overall strategies and initiatives of the Operating Company as MC member to carry out all the Upstream operations to meet the project objectives as authorized under the EPSA, JOA and JOCSA for Block 5A.
Essential Functions
- Strategic Planning & Initiatives
Plan the short and long term strategy and initiatives, strategic plans and KPI development, monitoring and performance reporting and company to meet business needs, and consolidation of the same for the company's overall operations, as well as company's Annual and Plan Years (1+4 years) WP&B and work plans preparation, consolidation and submission to management, shareholders and the Government of South Sudan for approval.
- Performance and Management Reporting and Finance/Commercial Advisory
Direct the overall financial management and reporting activities for management, partners/shareholders and, Government through proper effective and efficient management of accounting systems, processes and controls to ensure smooth running of operations and timely provision of financial and management information for decision making and performance reporting. Provide advice, reports and participate in sharing of best practices amongst the JOCs including tax planning, commercial and/or financial performance analysis, and contribute to the business plans and strategies as required.
- Assurance and Control
Establish and promote good rapport, relationship and networking with host country officer, Taxation Chamber, JV partners, and other JOC companies for effective working relationship and to identify opportunities by leveraging on knowledge sharing, implementing of best practices, cost sharing initiatives and benchmarking for performance improvement.
- Capability Development
Drive capability development for Corporate Services Division and develop staff and leaders through acquisition of skills and coaching and support the Host Country Nationals (HCN) in the skill and competency development to ensure right skill/capability mix, mindset and behavior that will contribute to superior business performance.
Qualifications/Experience Required
- Degree in Accounting.
- Preferably possess professional qualification in accounting such as Association of Certified Chartered Accountants {ACCA), Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Malaysian Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), etc.
- Minimum 15 years working experience in finance related areas.
- Experience in the upstream Oil & Gas business with good technical knowledge is a must.
