Qualifications:
- Educated to an engineering degree in a relevant discipline and comprehensive post qualification experience, including time spent on construction sites.
- Chartered member of IMechE or other equivalent institution.
Knowledge / Experience (Skills):
- Wide ranging experience in the oil and gas industry and Energy Transmission focused on the Hydrogen Economy
- Excellent technical background in the concept, pre-FEED & FEED phases of project development with good experience of Gas Processing, Compression and Pipelines and more recently Hydrogen Production, Carbon Capture
- Experience in design that minimizes environmental impact.
- Ability to effectively manage and direct lead multi-disciplinary professionals working under pressure to deadlines and be able to prioritize own and others workload, interfacing with other discipline staff as required to accomplish the task / project.
- High level leadership skills with the ability to lead effectively, and to motivate and influence others to adopt company and department objectives.
- High level strategic planning capability to effectively achieve company, departmental and project goals.
- High level strategic orientation capability of understanding the business beyond a single function by showing clear long term focus and contributes to the overall company objective.
- Strong analytical ability to focus on schedule and commercial goals relating to progress, revenue, cost and profit.

Main Purpose of Role:
Direct and manage the activities of a multi-disciplinary engineering projects, coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities. Monitor the quality of engineering and design work performed and ensure that project requirements are met to support the project timeframe. Lead, direct, motivate, coach, develop discipline engineers to attain their potential thus ensuring effective implementation of company strategic plans. Consult with client to seek mutual understanding and agreement on the overall execution and major deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, provision and management of engineering support services to project management
- Leading, planning and implementing initiatives for improvement of project performance, cost minimisation and quality of services.
- Development, implementation and monitoring of engineering procedures.
- Assisting Project Manager on design change control activities.
- Identifying and controlling interfaces between all functional groups.
- Coordinating the work and activities of others by getting the members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks.
- Providing consultation and advice to others by providing guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems or process related topics.
- Developing and building teams by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.
- Ensuring continuity of corporate procedures across all projects.
- Resolving conflicts and negotiating with others.
- Evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, using relevant information and individual judgement to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards.
- Management, training and performance monitoring of Engineering Department staff.
- Participating in the Company’s mentoring program to assist and mentor young, less experienced engineers.
