Project Quality Manager

Job Description

 

You will be the Project Quality Assurance (QA) lead and “voice of Quality” for the Project reporting to the Project Director / Project Manager as part of the Project core team. Managing Quality Assurance on Projects by analysing customer contracts regarding QM & QA requirements and proactively identifies issues that require special attention during execution

Description

 

Operations & Escalation

  • Quality Assurance lead ensuring regulatory and Quality compliance
  • Planning the project-specific quality strategy and quality control and prevention measures assessing the risks of NCR (i.e not meeting Quality Objectives) based on the contractual requirement and execution strategy
  • Monitor and ensure that the planned quality control measures are implemented for each work package achieving the Quality objectives
  • Integrating and training people within Quality Systems of HZI and QC programs of the project
  • Preparation of the project specific Inspection and Test Programs. Checking and / or Approving Quality related deliverables such as Inspection & Test Plans, Project specific QCP (Quality Control Programs), project’s corrosion protection specification etc. to ensure they are consistent with project quality plan requirements
  • Coordination of planned Customer workshop inspections and their quality control measures (Kick off meeting and inspections), including coordination with any third-party inspection agencies during production at the factory (NoBo, UKCAB, local product safety authorities etc.)
  • Acting as the project interface with the customer on Quality issues, informing on progress of Conformity checking and answering quality related queries. Proactively monitor and fostering with the support of project team timely closing-out of Quality Customer observations
  • Communicate to the project team on Quality issues and provide up to date monitoring information on scope and quality
  • Consolidating and checking Equipment’s and Plant’s Conformity Quality documentation
  • Responsible for Project Continuous Improvement by analysing and troubleshooting of Conformity issues via 8D / RCA, PDCA, Lean, Six Sigma impacting CoPQ and Project REX
  • Supports the induction & coordination of the Site Quality Manager (SiQM) at the construction site

 

Methods & Tools, Innovation & Continuous improvement

  • Ensures that Quality methods and tools are properly and uniformly implemented, providing the necessary visibility to the management functions, for all Quality-related aspects
  • Supports continuous improvement & development of processes, standards, & tools
  • Ensure that experience feedback is properly captured and used as input to Continuous Improvement

 

Requirements:

 

  • A minimum of 5 years Project and / or Site Quality Management experience
  • Experienced in using standardized methods to identify & treat complex problems
  • Willingness to work at the office, during business trips abroad and in the field when required
  • Experience in the manufacture and assembly of welded constructions in Energy from Waste, Power Plants, Oil & Gas (Boiler, Piping, Steel Structure, Static & Rotating equipment etc.)
  • Supports the projects and the department to achieve Quality objectives, targets & goals
  • Industrial experience in the field of Quality Management (QM) / Quality Assurance (QA) applied during plant engineering, manufacturing, construction & commissioning
  • Experience with the relevant harmonized standards, especially EN 12952, EN 13480, EN 1090
  • Welding engineer / welding specialist or welding inspector certification (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience in the relevant NDT methods RT, UT, MT, PT, VT. Level II certification (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of project management & quality tools (e.g. PMP, IPMA, Lean, Six Sigma, 8D)
  • Knowledge and experience of relevant directives and standards that are relevant in plant construction (pressure parts is an advantage) UK, EU directives / regulations (i.e. PED 2014/68/EU and MRL 2006/42/EC) and ASME BPVC code

 

Methodological Expertise

  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Fluency & a good working knowledge of English (additional languages especially German / Italian an advantage)
  • Leadership and project management experience
  • Self-management
  • Experience applying Quality & problem-solving methods including 8D / RCA, PDCA, Lean, Six Sigma
  • Knowledge and experience working with the relevant directives and standards applied in plant engineering, manufacturing & construction
  • Knowledge and experience in common project management systems and tools
