The role focuses on anticipating and influencing regulatory developments, supporting business decisions, and building relationships with key stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the subject matter expert for regulations relating to gas and biomethane in the Netherlands, supporting traders and originators.
- Research and analyse regulatory frameworks, synthesising insights to inform business strategies and commercial opportunities.
- Influence the development of national regulatory frameworks to protect and advance Shell Energy’s interests in gas and biomethane.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Dutch national regulatory authorities and relevant agencies.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Trading & Supply, Compliance, Legal, Government Relations, and Renewable Energy Solutions.
- Represent Shell in external forums and discussions, providing strategic input on legislative and policy issues.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Law, Economics, Political Science, Engineering).
- No less than 3 years’ experience in regulatory affairs, policy, energy markets, or related commercial environments.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks related to gas, biomethane, or renewable certificates (e.g., Guarantees of Origin) in the Netherlands.
- Fluent in both Dutch and English (written and spoken).
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex regulations and extract commercially relevant insights.
- Skilled in stakeholder management and influencing both internal and external audiences.
