Shutdown Logistics Coordinator

Location: Onshore Operations, Doha, Qatar

Department: Maintenance

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent

 

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shutdown Logistics Coordinator to provide logistics and site facilities support during planned shutdowns. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth execution of shutdown activities, managing material movements, coordinating logistics, and facilitating the efficient deployment of resources and contractors. You will be responsible for managing logistics planning and collaborating with multiple teams to ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with safety, quality, and operational standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Shutdown Logistic Planning:
    • Develop and implement a detailed shutdown logistics plan, outlining key logistical elements and ensuring efficient coordination of all resources.
    • Review and assess the conditions of existing site facilities to ensure they meet safety and operational requirements.

     

  2. Safety and Security:
    • Ensure that all safety and security procedures are followed, working closely with the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSE&Q) teams.
    • Monitor safety compliance and work to mitigate any potential hazards during shutdown activities.

     

  3. Equipment Management:
    • Oversee the management of lifting equipment and operators, ensuring all necessary certifications and registrations are in place.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to address and manage onsite equipment requirements.

     

  4. Materials Coordination:
    • Work closely with the Materials section to ensure the timely and efficient movement of materials required for the shutdown.
    • Assist in the procurement and management of materials to support operational efficiencies.

     

  5. Sanitary and Waste Management:
    • Establish and maintain sanitary and waste collection points, ensuring proper hygiene and disposal systems are in place for shutdown activities.
    • Coordinate the timely disposal of sewage and waste in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.

     

  6. Shelter and Water Supply:
    • Set up adequate shelter locations and water supply systems to support planned shutdown activities.

     

  7. Crane and Lifting Operations:
    • Provide assistance and support during crane movements and lifting operations, ensuring all safety and regulatory procedures are followed.

     

  8. Communication and Equipment Allocation:
    • Coordinate the allocation of radios and communication spares, liaising with the IT Telecoms team to ensure frequency requirements are met based on operational needs.

     

  9. Vendor and Contractor Support:
    • Support vendors and contractors throughout the shutdown, ensuring logistics and operational efficiencies are maintained at all times.

     

  10. Plot Reservation Management:
    • Monitor and renew Reservation Change Requests (RCRs) and Asset Team Opportunity Registration Forms (ATORFs) to secure plot reservations.

     

 

Person Specification - Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Engineering.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry, with a focus on shutdown logistics, materials management, and equipment coordination.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong command of written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency in standard office software and excellent computer literacy.
  • In-depth knowledge of shutdown planning and logistics coordination.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills, with the ability to engage cross-functional teams.
