Senior Material Controller


We are seeking a Senior Material Controller for a part time (20-30 hours/week) role in Denver. Candidate and their manager will determine specific work schedule, this person will be embedded at a client site to verify orders and standardize delivery processes. 

Overview:
As a Senior Material Controller at Company, you will play a vital role in supporting our project delivery by ensuring the accurate planning, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment on-site. This role is instrumental in helping Company and its clients maintain safe, efficient, and sustainable operations while meeting the demands of today’s energy, chemicals, and resources markets. You will contribute to projects that bridge conventional energy with emerging sustainable solutions, aligning directly with Company’s purpose of delivering a more sustainable world.
**Local candidates preferred due to on-site part-time work at the owner’s refinery. No relocation or travel allowance is provided.**

Responsibilities:
• Inventory Management
Ensure accurate tracking of material movements, including receipts, storage, and issuance of equipment and supplies required for construction activities.
• Supply Chain Collaboration
Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to verify material specifications, align delivery schedules, and resolve discrepancies.
• Quality & Compliance
Perform detailed checks of material deliveries to ensure alignment with project specifications and purchase orders. Maintain compliance with all safety and quality standards, including on-site protocols and client-specific requirements.
• Process Optimization
Identify and implement efficient material handling and delivery processes to support project timelines and operational efficiency, contributing to sustainable project outcomes.
• Leadership & Mentorship
Provide guidance and technical support to team members. Lead functional project teams when required, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across disciplines.
• Health, Safety & Environment
Uphold Company’s commitment to safety by adhering to site-specific requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, hard hats, and steel-toed boots. Promote a safety-first culture in all material handling operations.

Qualifications:
• Education & Experience
o University degree in supply chain management, construction management, engineering, or a related field; or equivalent relevant professional experience.
o Extensive experience in materials control, logistics, or supply chain operations within industrial sectors such as energy, chemicals, or resources.
o Proven experience working at a senior level in material control, with the ability to lead or mentor others.
• Technical Knowledge
o Advanced understanding of engineering documentation, including blueprints, bills of materials, and specifications.
o In-depth knowledge of industrial materials, equipment, and supplies commonly used in large-scale construction or refinery operations.
o Familiarity with inventory management systems and materials control software.
• Decision Making & Problem Solving
o Ability to work independently with self-directed problem-solving.
o Skilled at planning, prioritizing, and executing tasks while managing multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.
o Experience developing and optimizing delivery and material handling processes.
• Communication & Collaboration
o Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively across teams and disciplines.
o Ability to collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and client representatives to ensure project alignment and smooth material flow.
• Leadership & Teamwork
o Experience leading functional project teams or acting as a senior advisor within material control operations.
