LOGISTICS MANAGER


DURATION                6-months (Ongoing)


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies and processes.
  • Plans for the movement of personnel, equipment, and materials, ensuring they reach the right location at the right time.
  • Coordinating transportation modes (air, land, sea), routes, and schedules, for all inventory, supplies and personnel.
  • Managing customs clearance for both domestic and international shipments.
  • Managing inventory levels, implementing inventory control systems, and warehousing to minimize waste and ensure efficient operations.
  • Managing the movement of personnel to and from site, coordinating workforce rotations, and ensuring personnel are where they need to be.
  • Arranging accommodation and other support services for offshore personnel.
  • Selecting and managing logistics providers, negotiating contracts, and monitoring performance against service level agreements.
  • Ensuring all logistics operations adhere to company policies, industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Managing logistics budgets and identifying opportunities to optimize costs and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout the logistics process.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with logistics operations, including supply chain disruptions and safety hazards.
  • Working with various internal teams (e.g. operations, SCM, etc.) and external stakeholders to align logistics activities with overall business goals, and to coordinate logistics activities
  • Tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and measure the effectiveness of logistics operations.
  • Other duties as required.

 

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in logistics management within the offshore oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems.
  • Hold up-to-date certificates in Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET), Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST), and an Offshore Medical Certificate.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to manage budgets, analyse data, and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Previous experience in Congo preferred.
  • Strong organisational skills, along with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Fluent in technical French and English.
