PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement logistics strategies and processes.
- Plans for the movement of personnel, equipment, and materials, ensuring they reach the right location at the right time.
- Coordinating transportation modes (air, land, sea), routes, and schedules, for all inventory, supplies and personnel.
- Managing customs clearance for both domestic and international shipments.
- Managing inventory levels, implementing inventory control systems, and warehousing to minimize waste and ensure efficient operations.
- Managing the movement of personnel to and from site, coordinating workforce rotations, and ensuring personnel are where they need to be.
- Arranging accommodation and other support services for offshore personnel.
- Selecting and managing logistics providers, negotiating contracts, and monitoring performance against service level agreements.
- Ensuring all logistics operations adhere to company policies, industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Managing logistics budgets and identifying opportunities to optimize costs and improve efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout the logistics process.
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with logistics operations, including supply chain disruptions and safety hazards.
- Working with various internal teams (e.g. operations, SCM, etc.) and external stakeholders to align logistics activities with overall business goals, and to coordinate logistics activities
- Tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and measure the effectiveness of logistics operations.
- Other duties as required.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in logistics management within the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems.
- Hold up-to-date certificates in Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET), Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST), and an Offshore Medical Certificate.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Ability to manage budgets, analyse data, and make informed decisions.
- Experience in people management.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Previous experience in Congo preferred.
- Strong organisational skills, along with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Fluent in technical French and English.
