To ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of all utility systems during the assigned shift, supporting continuous operations of the main plant by managing the Power Island, Cooling Systems, Water Treatment Units, Utility Gases, and Air Separation Units in compliance with operational, safety, and environmental standards.
Job responsibilities:
Shift Operations Management
Supervise and control operations of:
- Power Island: Gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbine generators.
- Cooling Systems: Saltwater cooling tower, fresh water closed-loop system.
- Water Treatment Facilities: Desalination, demineralisation, polishing units, fire water system, waste water and sewage treatment (STP).
- Utility Gases: Instrument air systems, nitrogen reticulation, emergency instrument air compressors and dryers.
- Air Separation Unit (ASU): Oversee safe production and supply of gaseous oxygen, nitrogen, and argon.
- Monitor critical process parameters, troubleshoot deviations, and take corrective actions in real time.
- Coordinate with maintenance, and other plant units to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Ensure availability of manpower required for the safe and efficient operation of the unit.
Education s Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical /Mechanical engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, or equivalent
- Additional certifications in boilers, turbines , safety or process operations (preferred)
Experience:
- 14-16 years of experience in utilities plant operations (preferably with large-scale or integrated fertilizer/ chemical complexes)
- At least 5-7 years in a supervisory or shift leadership role
Skills s Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of urea C ammonia production processes (e.g., steam methane/AT reforming, air separation, synthesis loop)
- Familiarity with DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and plant automation tools
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills under pressure
- Good understanding of PCIDs, SOPs, Interlock/Logic diagrams, PTW systems, and root cause analysis
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
