Main Purpose:
The Field Maintenance Supervisor (Mechanical) is responsible for the daily supervision of safe and efficient maintenance activities by contractors in the field, ensuring they adhere to work orders, permits, and safety protocols. This role supports the startup of high-risk activities, assists the maintenance team with field checks, and validates field conditions during job planning. Additionally, the supervisor may perform job planning for small or low-risk activities, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Environmental Compliance:
Ensure good working practices and housekeeping.
Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory issues.
Validate the quality of work permits requested by third parties.
Economic & Operational Efficiency:
Support efficient field preparation and execution of maintenance activities.
Continuously seek opportunities to optimize maintenance field activities for contractors.
Provide feedback to maintenance planners and discipline leaders on field efficiency improvements.
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling (Mechanical):
Supervise the safe and effective execution of maintenance activities.
Provide field information, troubleshoot problems, and support job scoping and planning.
Guide contractors on site.
Lead job startups for high-risk activities.
Validate the scope and quality of work executed by third parties.
Support permit request preparations and participate in call-out services.
Execute assigned inspection activities and report findings.
Assist with high-priority maintenance activities and equipment hand-over.
Ensure the correct application of LOTO for safe execution of activities.
Report back to the maintenance team on contractor work and update the CMMS system.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure maintenance work adheres to safety protocols.
Support external and internal audits in maintenance and ensure required data is stored and traceable.
Continuous Improvement:
Seek ways to improve maintenance field processes and reduce costs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience:
HBO/MBO 4 (Mechanical background).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in O&G or liquid tank storage.
Basic knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.
Skills:
Ability to read and understand technical documentation.
Structured work approach with attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Dutch and English.
Pragmatic and results-focused.
