Offshore Mechanical Technician

The successful candidate will join a team of trade technicians responsible for the maintenance and operational monitoring of mechanical equipment offshore. The role focuses on ensuring safe, environmentally sound, reliable, and efficient operation of the equipment.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • A recognized apprenticeship in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering Discipline (preferred).
  • Certifications: MIST (Minimum Industry Safety Training), Offshore Medical, and BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training).
Experience:
  • In-depth knowledge of machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or related industries.
  • Broad experience in maintenance and fault finding on mechanical equipment.
  • Offshore experience is essential.
Key Tasks:
  1. Daily Operations:
    • Attend daily operations meetings to provide updates on planned Safety Critical Element (SCE) maintenance, current defects, and ongoing remedial plans.
  2. Maintenance:
    • Perform maintenance tasks according to company standards and procedures.
    • Aim to minimize production impact and maximize plant availability during maintenance activities.
  3. Permit and Work Request Management:
    • Raise necessary permits within the agreed timeframe.
    • Generate new work requests to address plant and equipment failures.
  4. Inventory Management:
    • Manage and maintain the inventory of critical spares and stock equipment to ensure that maintenance visits are completed on schedule and equipment downtime is minimized.
