In order to participate to our growth of Sub-Saharan Africa Business Unit, we are
looking for an "Instrument Specialist".


This position is located Offshore.


Operations

  • Under instruction from the Maintenance Superintendent ensures proper planning, scheduling, and execution of heavy level Maintenance operations in conjunction with production or other constraints,
  • Ensures all Instrumentation and Control Systems operations of maintenance to be carried out,
  • Analyses indicators provided by the CMMS, stock management and intervention reports with a view to improving maintenance in his area (HSE, availability, preservation of equipment, optimisation of costs),
  • Ensures that the preventive maintenance operations scheduled on Facilities are executed as planned, ensuring that all necessary spare parts and materials are available as and when required,
  • Organises on site the maintenance operations which are placed under his responsibility,
  • Assists the planning team by giving any technical support for the preparation of the jobs in his discipline,
  • He liaises with all third parts for troubleshooting, repair and refurbishment activities,
  • He ensures feedback from site after vendor intervention and propose some improvement of installation,
  • Ensures that company's HSE regulations are respected (especially procedures related to Work Permits), as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during performance of maintenance operations placed under his responsibility,
  • Manages interventions using the CMMS and checks intervention reports in the CMMS (including those concerning SMC) and writes the technical reports related to his field,
  • Ensures that the transfer of knowledge by mentoring occurs properly within his teams, and actively participates in this himself,
  • Carries out, at the COMPANY request, any intervention within his field of competence,
  • Takes in charge the systems under his responsibility in case of breakdown until correct operation status.

Methods

  • Identifies recurrent corrective maintenance interventions, analyses them and suggests improvements,
  • Keeps a critical eye on current preventive maintenance programmes and, if need be, suggests improvements,
  • Warns support teams of any recurring problems related to the availability or quality of spare parts,
  • Suggests improvements and requests modifications.Quality Assurance,
  • Verifies the quality of his teams interventions by frequent on-site checks,
  • Ensures that the members of his teams have the qualifications and skills required for the tasks entrusted to them and, if need be, suggests corrective measures.

The holder of this position must have the following qualifications:

  • Higher National Diploma or Certificate (HND/HNC (A-levels + 3 years' study) or BTS/DUT or equivalent,
  • Proven experience on Instrumentation and Control Systems equipment,
  • Calibration of Gauges, Calibration of Pressure Safety Valve (PSV),
  • 10 years experience minimum in the maintenance field on oil and gas production installations,
  • Good knowledge of Instrumentation and Control Systems (PFD and P&ID diagrams, Instrument list and I/O list, Specifications and data sheets, Valve, relief valve and pressure reducing valve calculations, Layout and routing plans, Assembly standards, Equipment parts lists, Terminal block and BJ plans, Grouping cabinet plans, Control room and technical room layout plans, Loop diagrams, Interconnection diagrams),
  • SAP/R3 experience and know-how,
  • Physical ability to work on offshore installations in the climatic conditions of the site,
  • Working language: English Bright 3.5 (or equivalent),
