About the role:
The Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with onsite Baker Hughes operations to ensure the safe execution of task onsite and the compliance all the applicable HSE procedures implementation and regulatory requirements.
He/She will work directly with the Site Operations Leader and the IVG HSE Director or designee to ensure alignment with the business HSE priorities and strategies.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide HSE technical advice to efficiently manage all Health, Safety & Environmental programs and compliance requirements. Duties shall include the following, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with local Operations Leader to implement BH HSE procedures as applicable
- Engage with employees and contractors to ensure safety practices
- Assist Operations Leader in tasks related to promote a strong HSE culture and enable business growth through risk management and control processes
- Identify and report any regulatory compliance misses.
- Facilitate risk assessment/management
- Promote a safety observation and near miss reporting culture
- Participate in incident investigation, site HSE audits/inspections, and collaborate with the operations team with the corrective actions closure.
- Complete all required metrics ? Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the company system of record (e.g. Intelex,)
To be successful in this role you will:
- Experience occupational safety and health, environmental management
- Minimum of 5 years of HSE experience
- HSE professional certification such as NEBOSH or equivalent (HSE Certification for Oil and Gas Industries)
- Familiarization with risk assessments
- Knowledge on lifting and rigging safe practices
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Effective problem identification and solution skills.
- Multi-lingual capabilities, fluent in English
