Reporting to the Subsurface Well Delivery Manager, this is a key role within our Subsurface Well Delivery (SSWD) team, offering an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal part in the delivery of safe and efficient well operations.

NES Fircroft have partnered with a global energy business who are currently seeking an experienced Operations Geologist to join their Development team based in Brisbane. Reporting to the Subsurface Well Delivery Manager, this is a key role within our Subsurface Well Delivery (SSWD) team, offering an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal part in the delivery of safe and efficient well operations.
Key Responsibilities
As an Operations Geologist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing well delivery and subsurface expertise including remote real-time monitoring and interpretation of wellsite data.
- Determining ECP set depths, calling total depths, supervising wireline logging operations, and managing well data acquisition and processing for swell packer placement.
- Preparing internal and regulatory reports such as Well Proposals, NOIs, NOCs, and Well Completion Reports.
- Collaborating closely with field-based teams including DSVs and OCRs.
- Supporting logging and data acquisition service contracts, including performance reviews and contractor management.
- Participating in Emergency Response activities if required.
You will bring:
- A relevant geoscience degree or qualifications.
- Experience influencing stakeholders and decision-makers to deliver optimal outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, collaboration, and emotional intelligence.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and team-building capabilities.
- Coaching and mentoring abilities, with a track record of delivering through others.
- CSG experience and familiarity with upstream work practices (highly regarded).
- This role requires regular interfacing with other Operations Geologists and Petrophysicists.
- Out-of-hours work, including weekends and holidays, may be required on a rostered basis.
- The candidate must be available for 24-hour on-call duty when rostered and willing to work onsite when necessary.
- Flexible work arrangements will be considered, however, regular attendance at the Brisbane office is required for team collaboration and business engagement.
