Position Title: Digital Systems Engineer – Project Execution Platforms
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Work Schedule: 8 hours per day
Contract Type: Full-time, Onsite
Overview:
We are seeking a Digital Systems Engineer to support our project execution platforms and information management systems within a leading engineering environment. This role will support database administration, systems integration, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the accurate, timely, and secure delivery of engineering documentation and digital workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
System & Database Administration:

Manage the configuration and technical maintenance of engineering information systems.

Administer data backup and restoration procedures for engineering project databases.

Configure access models, user roles, and permissions.

Ensure data consistency and system uptime for all active project environments.
Integration & Technical Support:

Support integration between various digital engineering tools and central project databases.

Conduct schema management including hierarchy setup, interface definitions, and reporting templates.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to platform performance or data exchange.

Map and align attributes between design software and document control systems.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:

Gather feedback from project teams to enhance system usability and data quality.

Assist in developing project-specific procedures, workflows, and instructions.

Maintain audit readiness and support internal QA reviews.

Promote lean project execution through innovation and system harmonization.
User Enablement & Knowledge Sharing:

Provide user training and technical onboarding.

Prepare instructional documentation and operational guidelines.

Contribute to standardization of tools and best practices across teams.
Compliance & Culture:

Promote and uphold internal safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

Ensure client and stakeholder satisfaction through punctual, accurate, and secure delivery of digital assets.
Ideal Background:

Minimum Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Information Management, or related field.

Minimum 5–8 years’ experience working with complex digital project environments.

Hands-on experience with engineering information platforms (SmartPlant Foundation or equivalent).

Familiarity with configuration, schema design, and system integration.

Proficient in SQL, VBA, or similar scripting language is a plus.

Strong understanding of engineering document workflows and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
