Greetings from NES Fircroft !!

We have an opportunity with one of our reputed clients in Dubai for the position of Reservoir Simulation Engineer

Position: Reservoir Simulation Engineer
Location: Dubai
Assignment Duration: 1 Year
Looking for Immediate Joiner
Rotation: Dubai Based A professional Reservoir Engineer with over 20 years' experience internationally in the oil and gas industry Job description
  • 20 years' experience reservoir engineer with Nexus and Eclipse Software usage
  • Plans, directs, supervises, QA/QC and leads the activities of projects that include carrying out all reservoir studies and reservoir simulation and FDP processes, and ensures best practices are implemented.
  • Plans, leads and conducts general reservoir studies and reservoir simulation.
  • History match, maintain and participate (if required) on building reservoir models. Carry out analysis and influences peers and Sonatrach asset management on subsurface programs as to whether or not to proceed
  • Preparation of Input assumptions and generation of production profiles and reserves scenarios for budget and reserves processes.
  • Well testing planning and analysis.
  • Provide input for Uncertainty Analysis of existing field model & associated drainage strategy and forecasted production under the different scenarios.
  • Develop Reservoir and Production optimization of producing fields through reservoir model simulation under multiple realizations and scenarios.
  • Prepare reservoir input and scenarios for drilling and completion departments on well planning and selection of most suitable well completion.
  • Prepare reservoir input and scenarios for production & facilities department for production optimization, interventions & sizing/upgrade of producing facilities.
Basic Reservoir Engineering Activities
  • Preparation of Engineering Data for the dynamic model for the required zones.
    • Analyse the production and injection data available.
    • Review/Build Relative Permeability and capillary pressure curves using the available SCAL data and petrophysics.
    • Build VFP tables for dynamic model.
    • Interpret all the available MDT / RFT data.
    • Review and update the PVT data used in dynamic model versus the available PVT reports.
  • Investigation of compartmentalization using the available formation pressure measurement and identification of sealing/non-sealing faults.
  • Preparing the input data for the new dynamic model using the newly constructed Geo-cellular static model that is based on best technical estimates of all parameters, and all available engineering data.
Dynamic Simulation Modelling
Based on the outputs from the basic reservoir engineering work and from the single static model that integrates project structures with target reservoirs, a dynamic model will be built:
  • Dynamic model History Match: This activity consists in history-matching Field production data. Gas rates will be used as main constraint at the well level control and reservoir pressure and phase ratios gas/oil ratio GOR and Water Cut will be closely matched at the field and well level.
  • The Tubing Head Pressure will be matched using the VFP leading to the possibility to control, if required, the wells by THP during the prediction phase.
Prediction and Development plan
The new dynamic model will form the basis for defining a range of development scenarios, recommending the optimum development plan to maximize recovery from fields.
Generate various development scenarios to comprise sensitivities on well configuration, spacing as well as drilling and work-over schedule for respectively the new and existing wells. Investigation could be done on gas injection with the definition of the appropriate patterns.
Participate in building integrated coupled surface & subsurface model in order to propose an alternative plan to maximize the production and recovery factor.
  FUNCTIONS:
  • A professional Reservoir Engineer with over 20 years' experience internationally in the oil and gas industry
  • Broad hands-on Reservoir Engineering experience covering wide range of hydrocarbon systems including oil, volatile oil, gas and condensates.
  • Experienced in in appraisal and development of both “green” and mature fields in clastic settings
  • Work as reservoir engineer and a team leader in integrated reservoir studies and reserves evaluation
  • Specialty in compositional and black oil Reservoir Simulation in both single porosity medium and dual porosity dual permeability media
  • Specialty in PVT, reserves estimation, classification and booking
  • Good working knowledge of EoR (CO2, Polymers and Miscible flooding)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NEXUS family of simulation software as well as others ECLIPSE.  Working knowledge of Petrel, simulator.
  • Experienced in use of various standard industry packages for reservoir analyses (IPM Suite), well test analysis (PIE, Fekete, Safire), nodal analysis (Prosper, VFPi), fluid analysis (PVTi, PVTP), fracture analysis (FRACA), static modelling (GOCAD, Petrel), streamline simulation (3DSL), Economic evaluation (PEEP), Well/Field production performance (OFM) and others.
  • Geographical experience covers Africa, and Middle East.
  • Proven abilities in surveillance management of reservoir and dynamic simulation model.
  • Good working knowledge of Economics and Planning
  • Strategic Management implementation, Business Innovation
