Shared Resources Lead of T&I Engineering (Pipelines and Cables)

Job Specification

Job Purpose

  • Responsible to provide T&I engineering support to various NFPS Compression projects including COMP1 and COMP3, and other projects within MP as needed
  • Lead and coordinate all T&I engineering related activities and accountable for the review and approval of engineering deliverables, technical assessments and studies, design and installation reiews, risk assessments.
  • Strives to achieve the best in class HSE and Quality performances under multicultural environment and challenging Project Objectives.

Key Accountabilities

(Duties include but not limited to)

  • Understanding & familiarity of the Project scope and the technical, quality & safety requirements including the applicable regulations, the Project procedures and Company rules.
  • Provide full function T&I engineering to EPC teams to ensure each of the EPC meet objectives - including all aspects of T&I engineering, marine warranty requirements, procedural compliance, execution safety and integrity and project execution effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide core technical and execution expertise to ensure consistent and quality application of T&I systems, processes, and procedures for T&I engineering scope.
  • Provide demonstrable competency and experience to advise, make recommendations and decisions for T&I regarding transportation and installation engineering requirements and activities including load-out, sea fastening, transportation and installation analysis, methods and procedures.
  • Provide knowledge and experienced technical and execution input to engineering designs and installation procedures
  • Support the delivery of all Transport and Installation Engineering scope based on Contractor installation vessels and barges in accordance with agreed schedule and budget.
  • Review of transportation and installation procedures from engineering perspective such as heavy lifts, jacket launches, topside floatovers, pipeline, cable, umbilical, crossings, post installed risers including stalk ons, freespan correction, pilling, load out, float on, float off, trenching, burial, beach pull, transpooling and others
  • Review and technical validation of Installation Engineering deliverables associated to the Transportation & Installation scope including:
  • Structural T&I Engineering (Grillage & Seafastening design, Jacket Upending analysis, design and verification of installation/lifting aids, Lifting & rigging design including associated lifting studies, structural checks, pile dravability, etc)
  • Naval Architechtural (Barge stability, response and motions analysis, transportation & towing analysis, tug bollard pull requirements, and mooring analysis, etc)
  • Pipeline & cables loadout, transportation and installation analysis
  • Provide inputs and vailidate CP topside floatover and transportation engineering including design of LMUs, DSUs, floatover operations, jacket and vessel fendering, etc
  • Support an effective interface with COMPANY/CONTRACTOR Engineering discipline leads to ensure the installation engineering input are reviewed and captured within the project design and relevant installation procedures.
  • Support MWS approval of CONTRACTOR's T&I engineering deliverables
  • Support performance monitoring through surveillance and analytics of T&I scope - perform necessary assessments, identify opportunities for improvements, application of lessons learned
  • Provide engineering support during offshore installation phase in a timely manner
  • Particiapte to regular risks assessment and ensure all mitigations measures are safely and timely implemented.
  • Techninal review and approval of the T&I design and operational changes, deviations and exceptions in accordance with the Project Management of Change (PMOC) processes.
  • Ability to identify problems and determine root cause and develop plan to mitigate or resolve them.

  • Reports to: Shared Resources Head of T&I Engineering

Internal

  • NFPS Venture Group including other COMP's projects.
  • No direct reports
  • Close collaboration with EPC project team (engineering, fabrication, HU, BF, HSE and Quality, interface, planning) and Installation discipline leads, Marine warranty surveyor, heavy lifting and diving specialists, welding and NDE specialists,
  • Support and assistance provided by Shared Resources Transportation and Installation team.

External

  • Other Major Projects Teams (e.g. EPCOL, Compression Projects, NFXP, etc.)
  • Technical and Operation Departments including OESS, Marine and Logistic groups.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

  • Support various stakeholders (EPC teams, Shared Services) to meet their respective objectives by discharging T&I engineering responsibilities and duties efficiently and effectively - multiple accountabilities and responsibilities
  • Ensure there is quality, effectiveness and consistency in the T&I processes, systems, procedures, and work products
  • Must be able to manage the respective priorities, drivers and challenges of the stakeholders while maintaining focus on their respective execution objectives
  • Support multiple internal and external interfaces across and Shareholder organizations and EPC Contractors - require effective communication, initiative, flexibility, and collaboration

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Offshore survival certificate and be able to pass an offshore medical evaluation. OPITO certification is considered as a plus.

Knowledge and/or Experience

  • 15+ years of experience with at least 10 years demonstrated T&I engineering experience
  • Experience in multiple T&I engineering aspects including offshore heavy lifts, pipeline, and cable installations, load-out and transportation
  • Proficiency in using various installation analysis software such as Orcaflex, Offpipe, and others
  • Worldwide experience with contractors in particular those involved in the Offshore projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT
  • Application and in-depth knowledge of stakeholder specifications and a working knowledge of Industry standards
  • Broad and extensive knowledge in offshore heavy lifts, pipeline/ cable laying, risers installation, load-out and transportation
  • Worldwide experience with Offshore Installation Contractors. in particular those involved in the Offshore projects.
  • Knowledgeable in HAZOP, HAZID, Risk Assessment processes and applications. Good knowledge of International codes / Standards
