Completion Engineer - Major Infrastructure Project
Location: Tanzania (Site-based)
Industry: Oil & Gas / Energy Infrastructure

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Completion Engineer for a major energy infrastructure project based in Tanzania. This project is one of the largest transnational oil and gas initiatives in the East African region, involving the construction of a 1,445 km oil export pipeline, along with supporting facilities and infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-profile project with global significance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the completion process for systems handover from construction to pre-operations, ensuring smooth transitions.
• Review and analyze system definitions, inspection plans, and pre-ops sequences.
• Coordinate and oversee punch list management, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely resolution.
• Lead daily meetings with contractors, QA/QC, and construction teams to track progress and resolve issues.
• Ensure that all documentation required for system handover, including completion certificates and test packs, is completed on time and meets project standards.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across various technical disciplines to ensure all requirements are met.
• Support the Handover Team in preparing mechanical packages and tie-in dossiers for client approval.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the project.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• At least 10 years of experience in construction and turnover/completion roles in major infrastructure or energy projects.
• Proficiency with completion software (e.g., ICAPS, WINPCS, TAKEOVERXPS, SMARTPLANT) and strong computer skills.
• Extensive knowledge of system completion, handover procedures, and inspection processes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Previous experience in coordinating with multicultural teams and managing complex projects.
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken).

Desirable Attributes:

• Experience with international standards, especially in the energy sector.
• Ability to travel as required to ensure project milestones are met.
