Environment Compliance Advisor – Oil & Gas – 12 month contract

Location: Brisbane CBD - Monday to Friday with WFH available
Day Rate: $850/day inc superannuation

Join our client’s dynamic team as the Environment Compliance Advisor, where your expertise will play a pivotal role in managing and responding to compliance obligations and risks. Your efforts will help maintain our client’s environmental and social license to operate across projects, construction, and decommissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive the assurance of our clients’ environmental legislative requirements and enhance our regulatory condition assurance system. Prepare annual permit returns and identify improvement opportunities that elevate compliance standards.
  • Implement, review, and continually refine compliance management under ISO:14001 Environmental Management System. Focus on incident response and regulatory engagement will ensure processes are always top-notch.
  • Provide strategic environmental compliance advice to operational business units. Lead and coordinate environmental compliance assurance programs, including third-party audits and LOD1 audits, contributing to the comprehensive master assurance program.
  • Build and nurture relationships with State and Federal regulators, managing incident responses and compliance issues. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop compliance positions and foster a culture of environmental stewardship.
  • Craft compelling reports on key environmental metrics for senior leaders and various business units, showcasing performance and compliance risks. Identify, develop, and support strategies to drive environmental improvement opportunities.
What You Bring:
  • A deep commitment to safety and personal accountability that inspires those around you.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical, environmental, or law-related discipline is essential.
  • Proficiency in applying State and national environmental legislation, policy, and standards, with a strong working knowledge of these areas.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into clear, actionable insights.
  • Practical experience in field environment management within the CSG/LNG or related industries is preferred.
  • Proven ability to connect proactively with stakeholders both inside and outside the organization, fostering collaboration and trust.
