Production Technician
Job Title: Production Technician
Location: Karnes, Blackhawk, or Hawkville, TX
Position Type: Full-time W-2 Contract
Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, mechanically inclined Production Technician with a growth mindset who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on, field-based work environment. As a Production Technician, you will play a key role in performing repairs, preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, conducting root cause failure analysis, and collaborating across teams to improve business operations. You will be expected to work with various teams to support our manufacturing processes while maintaining high standards for safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on existing equipment in the field.
  • Diagnose issues and conduct root cause failure analysis on malfunctioning systems.
  • Lead pre- and post-job reviews to ensure all tasks are performed efficiently and to standard.
  • Handle contractor work and ensure adherence to company safety and operational standards.
  • Collect and validate data, investigate customer/third-party issues, and ensure quality assurance.
  • Support periodic quality assurance and verification of business processes, focusing on safety and eliminating defects and variability from operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in operational practices.
  • Handle physical demands including standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movements of limbs.
  • Occasionally operate power equipment, sit at a desk for data entry, utilize computers and phones, and lift or move up to 50 lbs as required.
Pre-Requisite Requirements:
  • 4 Wheel Drive Truck with Tools: A 4WD truck with appropriate tools is required for this position.

    • FR Clothing (long shirt and pants)
    • 4-Gas Monitor
    • Hard Hat
    • Safety GlassesGloves

  • BYOD (Bring Your Own Device): This position requires candidates to supply their own laptop, as the company does not provide one.
Allowances:
  • In-Field Mileage: Paid at the IRS rate for mileage incurred while working in the field. Mileage is calculated from the first work location of the day to the last location before heading home. The exception is for callouts—mileage begins from the house when leaving for a callout.
Pre-Requisite Trainings for This Position you must have prior to starting:
  • OSHA – H2S
  • OSHA – Hazwoper Training (8-Hour Course)
  • OSHA – First Aid / CPR
  • OSHA – Benzene Awareness
What We Need From You:
  • Ability to clearly communicate issues and solutions with remote staff through phone, video, or virtual assist technology.
  • Strong analytical skills to leverage data and available resources to solve field issues.
  • A full-cycle understanding of oil and gas operating systems from reservoir to sales line.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to increase system capability and capacity.
  • Proven ability to conduct or learn basic failure analysis.
  • Experience using data to inform decision-making processes.
  • Strong interest and aptitude for learning and adapting to new technology.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in oil and gas or other industrial/manufacturing sectors.
  • Familiarity with the oil and gas industry, its processes, and challenges.
  • Capability to troubleshoot and repair industry components such as level controllers, displacement valves, switches, controls, pumps, vessels, and flare systems.
  • Knowledge of artificial lift systems, including gas lift compression, ESPs, and rod pumps.
  • Experience working with high-pressure systems (up to 3,000 psig).
  • A growth mindset and proven ability to adapt and learn quickly.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, with an upbeat and inquisitive nature.
  • Ability to remain adaptable in dynamic work environments and handle frequent changes or delays.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Occasional use of power equipment and desk work.
  • Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs as necessary.
Work Environment:
  • A dynamic, field-based environment requiring flexibility and adaptability.
