Rotating Equipment Engineer

Job Purpose  Provide technical support for the safe operation and maintenance of Rotating equipment including Gas turbine, compressor, pumps installed at theCompany Onshore facilities, RLTO & Refinery.  

Reporting and Relationships  Reports to Lead Mechanical Support (North/South).Internal Frequent contact with Maintenance, Operations, Supply, Audit, Engineering& Projects.External Frequent contact with suppliers, contractors, vendors, and equipmentmanufacturers.  

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)  Role covers onshore LNG plants with collaboration with Operation, Maintenance, Supply, Safety, and other Engineering & Projects Departments. Major challenges of the role are: (1) Integrate plan,co-ordinate and implement all major rotating equipment planned, unplanned maintenance and Plant Gas turbine and compressor planned inspection. with multi asset leadership teams across all operational assets, (2) integrating multiple issues, solutions and initiatives to deliver business targets, expectations and aspirations, (3) Highlight all the gas turbine and critical rotating equipment related engineering issues like equipment failure and resolve all the bad actors issues after discussing with GE and QatarEnergy LNG Engineering, (4) Provide Reliability and Maintenance support services to ensure first line engineering support available when required, (5) Optimising operational plant availability and limiting operational cost overruns by regular reviewing and optimising existing maintenance strategies, (6) PMCR’s and strategy review related to maintenance, (7) Utilizing the latest technologies and address the more complex discipline specific related problems.

Safety Health & Environment  Ensure all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company Safety,Health and Environment and Quality policies, regulations, and standards. Firewall Compliance  Ensure all activities undertaken comply with anti – trust and competitionlaws and the Company firewall policies and procedures.  

Key Job Accountabilities 1. Analyse and guide asset maintenance team of various support for rotating equipmentmaintenance activity and troubleshooting for LNG plant. Prepare for blocker after criticalequipment trouble shooting.2. Plan and execute all planned and unplanned rotating equipment major jobs during the plannedshutdown including gas & steam turbine and compressors. Ensure close relationship withasset/shutdown planning other team member of the department to ensure review materialsreservation, schedule, and pre-shutdown activity including tools and spares verification.3. Ensure Quality control of all plan maintenance activity for Gas turbine and compressormechanical jobs and refurbishment activity at OEM workshop. Quality verification of assetmaintenance rotating equipment related jobs.4. Regular follow-up of all gas turbine mechanical activity and co-ordination with asset and GECSA team. Review and prepare all documents like job cards, JSA, quality check list for gasturbine and compressor jobs.5. Review Availability of Spares of critical equipment and recommend and missing spares tomaterials team for stock creation and procurement. To identify the System obsolescence andraise EMOC for up gradation well in advance.6. Raise of EMOC for any upgrade based on failure, bad actor program, RCFA etc. Support forManagement of Change feasibility study by providing system inputs.7. Participate in Root cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Risk Assessment, HAZOP study and providenecessary data for this Analysis.8. Provide facility for technical training and coaching of mechanical technicians and QatariNational Developees for rotating equipment.9. Lead for repair and refurbishment process for critical rotating equipment components likerotor, DGS, seal bearing etc. Coordinate with multi department team member for completingthis process so that items will repair on time.10. Part B: Person Specification – Minimum RequirementsQualifications  4 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry or petrochemical industry. Experience on rotating equipment major overhauling and troubleshooting experience. Sound knowledge on Gas turbine, steam turbine, compressor, and pump auxiliary system.  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science majoring in Mechanical Engineering.Knowledge and/or Experience  Conversant with standards and specifications of company, national and international bodies. Knowledge of SAP system.  

Qualifications Bachelor’sdegreeinEngineeringorSciencemajoringinMechanicalEngineering. Knowledgeand/orExperience 4years’experienceintheOil&Gasindustryorpetrochemicalindustry.Experienceonrotatingequipmentmajoroverhaulingandtroubleshootingexperience.SoundknowledgeonGasturbine,steamturbine,compressor,andpumpauxiliarysystem.Conversantwithstandardsandspecificationsofcompany,nationalandinternationalbodies.KnowledgeofSAPsystem. Technical and Business Skills  Fluent in English language (demonstrated verbal and written skills). Computer literate, and competent with a variety of engineering software tools
