Job Description – Senior Mechanical Technician  

Part A: Job Specification  

Job Purpose  Support Expansion Project Mechanical activities for precommissioning, commissioning, preservation and start-up tasks and conduct Mechanical field maintenance activities safely, including preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance to ensure reliability and availability of Company Assets (North, South, RLTO & Refining, Barzan and NFE facilities).  

Reporting and Relationships  Reports to Head of Maintenance (NFPS)Internal Regular contact with OES Maintenance, Operations and EngineeringDepartment.External Occasional contact with contractors and 3rd party suppliers.  

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)  Supports QG facilities Mechanical expansion activities. This will involve working with project EPCI contractors and PMT offshore and possibly construction activities at contractor yard facility.

Key Job Accountabilities 1. Participates in pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation and start-up of new equipment and facilities.2. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance work on field Mechanical equipment as directed in the field and workshop in line with safe work practices.3. Ensure that material and spare parts are available and in good condition before starting maintenance activities as per work plan.4. Ensure applicable maintenance procedures are followed and ensure proper controls are in place to ensure safe workplace.5. Provides accurate records and close-out reports of all completed work as per company requirements, as requested and guided by Foreman/Supervisor.6. Participates in troubleshooting of Mechanical field issues, as directed and guided by Foreman/Supervisor and issues timely reports.7. Review the Piping & Instrument Diagram and Drawings (P&IDs,) loop drawings, hook-up drawings, Mechanical Index, Mechanical datasheets, logic diagrams and other documents required to tackle issues related to Mechanical field.8. Perform calibrated and certified tools specific for the job type and ensure requirements for Intrinsic Safety (IS).9. Participates in Regular Toolbox meeting with colleagues and reports all Near Misses, Incidents and Accidents during operation by raising B-Safe and observation cards. Part B: Person Specification – Minimum Requirements  

Qualifications  Completion of Secondary School education followed byvocational training program (TAFE). Knowledge and/or Experience  3 years’ experience as a technician in the Oil & Gas orPetrochemical industry. Technical and Business Skills  Extensive experience in the operation, maintenance and condition monitoring of Mechanical equipment eg: turbines, pumps, compressors, valves, exchangers, vessels and associated equipment. Good written and oral communication skills in English. Good adaptability to multinational environment, with wide exposure to various cultures and customs. Computer literate with basic knowledge in MS Office software.
