Job Description – Senior Electrical Technician  

Part A: Job Specification  

Job Purpose  Supports Expansion Project Electrical support activities for precommissioning, commissioning, preservation and start-up tasks and conducts electrical field maintenance activities safely, including preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance, to ensure reliability and availability of Company Assets (North, South, RLTO & Refining, Barzan and NFE facilities).  

Reporting and Relationships  Reports to Head of Maintenance (NFPS)Internal Regular contact with OES Maintenance, Operations and EngineeringDepartment.External Occasional contact with contractors and 3rd party suppliers.  

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)  Supports QG facilities Electrical expansion activities. This will involve working with project EPCI contractors and PMT offshore and possibly construction activities at contractor yard facility.

Key Job Accountabilities 1. Participates in pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation and start-up of newequipment and facilities.2. Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance work on field Electrical Equipment asdirected in the field and workshop in line with safe work practices.3. Ensure that material and spare parts are available and in good condition before startingmaintenance activities as per work plan.4. Ensure applicable maintenance procedures are followed and ensure proper controls are inplace to ensure safe workplace.5. Provides accurate records and close-out reports of all completed work as per companyrequirements, as requested and guided by Foreman/Supervisor.6. Participates in troubleshooting of Electrical field issues, as directed and guided byForeman/Supervisor and issue timely reports.7. Reviews the Piping and Instrument Diagram and Drawing (P&IDs), loop drawings, hook-updrawings, Electrical Index, Electrical datasheets, logic diagrams and other documentsrequired to tackle issues related to Electrical field equipment.8. Perform calibrated and certified tools specific for the job type and ensure requirements forIntrinsic Safety (IS).9. Participates in regular Toolbox meetings with colleagues and reports all Near Misses,Incidents and Accidents during operation by raising B-Safe and observation cards.10. Undertakes troubleshooting of equipment failure or operational problems. Seek guidance forproblems of a more complex nature from Maintenance Superintendent, Vendor and OEMsupport. Part B: Person Specification – Minimum Requirements  

Qualifications  Completion of Secondary School education followed byvocational training program (TAFE). Knowledge and/or Experience  3 years’ experience as a technician in the Oil & Gas industry orpetrochemical industry. Technical and Business Skills  Good written and oral communication skills in English. Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems. Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance and condition monitoring techniques. Basic computer skills. Ability to read and understand technical drawings (including Electrical Drawings) and documents. Good adaptability to multinational environment with side exposure to various cultures and customs.
