Main function of the job: -
Responsible for engineering and construction of mechanical EPC projects in oil
and gas industry. The work includes preparing project scope, specification,
drawings and supervise projects during construction stage as well as ensures all
the work done according to applicable standards, Safety requirements and
projects are completed as per approved budget and schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities: -
- Prepare engineering studies, design, specification, drawings and scope of work
for EPC industrial plant projects packages.
- Prepare and review equipment sizing calculations, specification, data sheets and
drawings for static equipment such as a pressure vessel, piping, tanks and
rotating mechanical equipment.
- Manage EPC mechanical projects and study project construction drawings,
contract documents, applicable standards, specifications, work schedule prior
execution the project.
- Conducting site surveys and prepare project site for contractor mobilization.
- Prepare project schedule, estimates, assign and schedule resources such as
manpower, materials, consumables, equipment, tools,.. etc. required for all
project works and ensures all are available at site prior execution.
- Plan and analyses all possible construction methodologies and recommend the
best options prior to execution at site.
- Supervise mechanical projects construction including pipelines, piping,
machinery, vessels, rotating equipment, tanks, firefighting systems, etc.
- Ensures all construction work completed correctly on time as per schedule,
approved drawings, specifications, budget and safety requirements.
- Supervise repair works projects such as crude oil tanks, boilers,.. etc.
- Preform equipments and materials site inspection, acceptance testing and
plant commissioning.
- Plan the execution of all mechanical related works and coordinates the works
with other disciplines.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting site problems efficiently to ensure smooth
work execution.
- Provide an engineering and technical support to all the mechanical work
groups at the site.
- Review, comment and approve contractor design, calculations, drawings,
materials specification work procedures and schedules.
- Prepare project equipment and materials specification, purchase order, bids
evaluation and inspect equipment /materials when received at site.
- Attend meetings with management, suppliers and contractors to present an
update on the project progress and discuses projects issues.
- Collaborate with planning engineer regarding, payments, cost control, project
progress for preparing the project reports.
- Perform equipment and pipeline cleaning, gauging, filling, hydrotesting,
dewatering, leak testing,.. etc.
- Prepare as built drawings, equipment maintenance and operational manuals
and handover project to client.
- Prepare project construction daily reports, technical reports and maintain
project documents record.
Qualifications & Experience: -
- Education: B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in mechanical engineering and projects
construction includes EPC projects in oil and gas industry.
- Must be fully familiar with mechanical design and project management
software, plant safety requirements and engineering standards such as API,
ASME, NACE, BS, DIN and ASTM.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and project management skills.
- Excellent English verbal, communication and good writing skills as well as
Arabic language is advantage.
- Computer skills MS office
