Main function of the job: -
Responsible for overseen the final construction of the projects and ensuring that engineering projects are completed successfully and all plant equipment are operating effectively, safely and in accordance with all specification, codes and regulations. His duties also include performing preliminary checks, functional tests and preliminary start up activities in accordance to plant approved procedures and safety requirement in oil and gas industry.
Duties and Responsibilities: -
- Developed and implement commissioning planning and procedures for oil and gas projects electrical and control systems.
- prepare data base, drawings, and testing instruments, spare parts for commissioning.
- Carry out pre commissioning and commissioning CPF of plant process units, utilities, storage tanks, vessels, Turbines, pipelines,..etc.
- Participate in design review, HAZOPs, risk assessment studies, operation review,.. ete.
- Supervise field technician as required to perform commissioning tasks and control performance of the staff to complete commissioning as per schedule.
- Conduct testing all electrical system includes generators, transformer, switchgear, motors, UPS, cables, relays.,.. etc. Ensure are all installed and operate according to design and specification.
- Conduct testing all control system includes DCS, PLC, ESA, control loops, programming and all plant instrumentations,..etc. Ensure are all installed and operate according to design and specification.
- Configuring and calibrating instruments to match specifications.
- Coordinate commissioning work activities with project engineers, contractors and project manager through daily, weekly meetings and reports.
- Verify system operation and performance according to all relevant codes and regulations.
- Perform commissioning work in accordance with project specific and company procedures and guide lines.
- Prepare and issue proposals for facilities modifications for safety to improve performance and process reliability.
- Perform troubleshooting, fault finding of electrical and instrumentation when required.
- Prepare punch list and supervise clearing the punch list.
- Ensure all safety, quality, and operational procedures are followed during the commissioning phases,
- Document all related commissioning activities includes, test records, as built drawings, detailed reports, operation manuals and handover to operations.
Qualifications & Experience: -
- Education: B.Sc. Degree in Electrical /Instrumentation engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, construction and commissioning of electrical, instrumentation and control system in oil and gas industry projects.
- Familiar with electrical and instrumentation codes and standards such as NEC, NEMA, IEEE, IEC, ISA etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and technical analytical skills.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Computers skills MS office.
