Construction Methods Specialist - Subsea & Diving Operations

Are you an experienced subsea and diving professional ready to take on a pivotal role in one of the largest infrastructure projects in East Africa?
A major international EPcmC pipeline project spanning over 1,500km across Uganda and Tanzania is seeking a Construction Methods Specialist – Subsea and Diving Operations to join its elite team. This high-impact role supports offshore construction, jetty installation, and diving operations with a strong focus on safety, technical excellence, and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide and mentor diving teams and offshore personnel in safe, efficient underwater construction and inspection techniques.
• Advise on subsea and diving operational risks, developing strategies and systems to mitigate them.
• Ensure compliance with IOGP LSR, IMCA, and DMAC guidance and international standards.
• Deliver technical support and procedural input specific to offshore diving and construction.
• Conduct training on diving safety, emergency response, and operational best practices.
• Develop and implement a continuous improvement framework (Deming process) within diving operations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certified IMCA Diving Supervisor.
• In-depth understanding of IMCA, DMAC, and IOGP diving/subsea standards.
• Professionally qualified in diving supervision within international oil & gas environments.

Experience Required

• Minimum 10 years in offshore oil & gas projects with direct involvement in subsea and diving operations.
• Proven background in auditing diving systems, validating certifications, and overseeing safe operational readiness.
• Expertise in reviewing method statements, emergency response strategies, and operational risk assessments.
• Strong HSE leadership in diving operations.

Desirable

• Prior experience working on major oil and gas projects in Africa.
