Job Description
The Site Manager for Oil Recovery Operations is responsible for leading all site-based activities related to oil recovery, treatment, export and produced water clean-up operations from multiple oily water disposal lakes.
This includes managing construction and commissioning activities, production optimization, chemical injection systems, water and gas handling, and field operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant recovery of hydrocarbons and produced water treatment to suitable discharge specification.
The role demands strong leadership, technical knowledge of oil recovery and produced water treatment methods, execution of emergency response procedures and coordination across multi-disciplinary teams and contractors in a remote and logistically complex environment

Key Duties will include:
- Lead daily site operations supporting oil recovery from oily water disposal lakes and produced water effluent treatment.
- Oversee construction and commissioning activities for oil, water and gas handling equipment.
- Oversee performance of production equipment, water separation lakes and treatment processes.
- Monitor and optimize recovery operations through real-time data and field performance trends.
- Manage interface with site operation and management teams.
- Supervise operations, maintenance, and laboratory personnel on site.
- Conduct site briefings, ensure effective crew handovers, and maintain consistent shift coverage.
- Mentor local operators and technicians, promoting knowledge transfer and operational discipline.
- Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, particularly related to chemical handling and water systems.
- Permit to Work coordination and enforcement of Safe System of Work procedures.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and incident reporting aligned with corporate and regulatory frameworks.
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities as designated team lead on site.
- Participate in short- and long-term planning to align recovery activities with project milestones.
- Coordinate logistics for equipment, chemicals, and materials; maintain site inventory and spare parts control.
- Manage contractors and service providers, ensuring performance and compliance with scope.
- Maintain accurate records of oil recovery and produced water volumes and quality, production performance, chemical usage, and operational integrity.
- Report to central operations, engineering, and HSE teams on site performance, issues, and improvement opportunities.

SKILLS END EXPERIENCE
- Degree or vocational qualification in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (OND/ONC/HND or equivalent)
- NVQ Level II/III in Processing Hydrocarbons or related certification
- Minimum 10 years of oil field operations experience.
- Experience mentoring and managing multi-national field teams
- Fluency in English and Arabic (written and verbal)
- Strong understanding of surface facility oil and water operations and equipment.
- Familiarity with SCADA/DCS systems and fluid management.
- Experience in equipment troubleshooting and performance tracking.
- Proficient with project management and reporting tools.
- Certifications (Preferred or Required)
- Project Management Certification (mandatory)
- Health & Safety (HSE) Certification (mandatory)
- First Aid/CPR (recommended)
- Chemical Handling and Spill Response Training
- Quality Control or Process Safety Certification
