Position Summary

This is an IBEW Local 1245 represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E.

This position will provide administrative assistance to an assigned department at Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP).

You may be asked to support the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) by taking on assigned responsibilities while at work or be called in while away from the Plant during actual emergencies.

You may be asked to work overtime during outages which occur one to two times annually for four to eight weeks at a time.

To obtain and maintain employment and unescorted access at DCPP, you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check, psychological screen, computer-based training, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreement, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

2024-Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the starting hourly rate range for this position is $36.83 to $54.81; subject to collectively bargained wage increases.

2025-Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the starting hourly rate range for this position is $38.21 to $56.87; subject to collectively bargained wage increases.

Qualifications

Minimum:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain one within first day of hire
  • Work a flexible schedule with extended hours
  • Knowledge of nuclear power plant operations and regulations as needed to perform at the job level

Desired:
  • 1 year of clerical or administrative support experience
  • Participate in Emergency Response Organization (ERO) functions such as emergency events and drills
  • Must be able to work overtime with very little notice
  • Relevant DCPP experience
  • Advanced and demonstrated proficiency with business software products (Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Adobe Acrobat, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of nuclear plant policies and procedures
  • Ability to prepare complex forms, reports, records and reference data, including statistical records and computations required for reports and audits, Excellent work ethics
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and team player
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high pressure, fast paced environment
  • File/maintain procedures and drawings

In SAP:
  • Requisition and maintain office supplies
  • Initiate personnel change requests
  • Acknowledge receipt of plant procedures and drawings
  • Using Microsoft Office Products or Word Perfect:
  • Word process/revise documents (program directives, procedures, Tech Specs, etc.) per supervisor and/or customer instruction
  • Calendar management
  • Maintain job aids

Other Responsibilities:
  • Edit documents in Adobe
  • Scan documents to PDF
  • Prepare, file, audit, and RMS quality and non-quality related documents and records
  • Maintain document version control using FileNet
  • Enter/update information in plant databases
