About the Job
Job Purpose and Accountabilities:
- Advise project managers on contract strategy and ensure contract management throughout the project life cycle:
- Prepares and consolidates highly complex analysis of contract conditions, issues, as well as risks and opportunities, and develops associated contractual strategy.
- Aligns contract management plan to the project plan.
- Functions as a business partner for project managers.
- Manages relations with external partners and stakeholders.
- Ensures contract management all along the project on all topics.
- Monitors and leads contract conformance throughout project execution.
- Anticipates and mitigates contractual risks and opportunities.
- Leads and coordinates change management across the project.
- Responsible for the full life cycle of change management.
- Manage the interface between the Project and other Legal functions.
- Ensures compliance with internal policies, standards, processes and the like.
- Responsible for the delivery of Contract services and strategy from early projects phase until contract close outs, including but not limited to the following:
- Provide the principal contract support and lead all contract management activities for the Project, including Client contracts, Partnership arrangements (JV, Consortium).
- Protect and pursue T.ENs interests and contractual rights.
- Maintain T.ENs liability exposure under strict control.
- A Contract Manager is fully assigned to a project or may assist two or more projects in parallel, dependent on size and complexity.
- Depending on assignment and profile, the function may include management of one or more Contract Engineers.
- Depending on assignment and the location of the PMT, the Contract Manager may be mobilised at site where the work is being conducted.
Projects:
- Regional remit:
- US based construction project with fabrication and procurement sites globally.
- Initial mobilization based in TEN or partner home office in Houston.
- Mobilization may be required to construction site as project progresses (project and role dependent).
- Typical Project:
- Large onshore EPC project within the US energy sector.
- Multiple fabrication sites globally.
- May be managed solely by TEN or in partnership with other parties.
Responsibilities:
Project Execution Contract Management:
- Provide appropriate support and guidance to the Project Manager and the wider Project Team in the management and administration of the contract, consistent with internal policies, standards and processes.
- Participate in all project meetings (internal or with Client/Partners/Major Subcontractors and Vendors) when the agenda relates to the project status, cost and schedule issues in order to be aware of project activities which may affect T.EN in respect of contractual positions and exposure to risks. Issue recommendations to the Project Manager for taking appropriate and timely actions to protect T.EN interests.
- Initiate, draft and/or review, as the case may be, all incoming and outgoing correspondence with Clients and Partners and, and whenever necessary in case of matters related to T.ENs liabilities, risks and contractual rights, correspondence to and from subcontractors and vendors.
- Provide to the procurement manager and the subcontract manager a flow-down of the contractual requirements to ensure T.ENs obligations set forth in the Prime Contract are fulfilled and furthermore to pursue a rational approach and an efficient control of the transfer of the contractual rights & obligations to all parties involved in the project execution under T.ENs responsibility.
- Provide necessary support in the preparation of the Particular Terms & Conditions for procurement and subcontracting and in the negotiation of critical terms with Vendors/Subcontractors thereafter.
- Work closely with the project control manager to monitor schedule performance and cost trends in order to identify risks and opportunities for revenue enhancement, schedule relief and risks mitigation.
- Prepare a consolidated analysis of the Contract Terms and Conditions to highlight the areas of risks and opportunities to be pursued. As the work proceeds, the Project Contract Manager shall assist the Project Manager in the management of these risks as they arise.
- Assist the Project Manager in analyzing and tackling project financial issues and follow up the client progress payment and billings to ensure compliance with contract terms and requirements in cooperation with the project controller.
- Draft the project change management procedures and take the leading role in the management of change across the project from identification of changes to preparation, negotiation and settlement of change orders and claims (EOTs, Acceleration, delays, etc).
- Assist the subcontracting and procurement teams in the identification, negotiation and resolution of major change orders and claims of subcontractors and vendors, as well as critical amendments where required.
- Work with the other project team members to monitor and identify Clients actions and/or inactions, which could result in contract changes and assist the Project Manager in their resolution with respect to additional compensation and time relief through change order management.
- Track any risks and track/pursue opportunities in view of consolidating and increasing the project profit margin.
- Monitor adherence to contract insurance provisions and coordinate any actions required in this regards with T.EN insurance department; ensure that all information needed for insurance claims are collected in due time.
- Support the Project Manager in the management of T.EN contractual and commercial interests when working in JV or consortium with partners.
- Liaise and obtain when required legal expertise from the Legal Team (corporate, compliance, litigation, general legal advice) and with other functions (treasury, tax, insurance, etc.) with the purpose of providing to the Project a comprehensive set of legal and contractual services.

About You

Must Have
- University Level Education (Bachelors Degree, BAC...).
- Proven minimum 10 years relevant experience in large Oil & Gas or Infrastructure EPC contracting with an international company.
- Proven knowledge and experience in Contract Management in the Energy or related industry.
- Field experience in a construction yards or construction site.
- Effective written and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to manage complexity, including large plant engineering
- Hands on knowledge and experience in schedule analysis methodologies and Extension of Time claims.
- Good understanding of Project Management, Planning, Risk Management and Cost.
- Possess strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to hold open and direct dialogue with stakeholders.
- High level of integrity and ethics.

- Autonomous and Organisational Skills/Time Management.

JOB SUMMARY
