Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Nuclear Emergency Response Planner to provide dedicated advisory and assistance services (A&AS) support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Nuclear Enterprise Directorate, Nuclear Surety Department. The qualified candidate will organize, coordinate, execute, and provide support to Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) nuclear weapon accident incident (NWAI) response planning, training, education, and exercises. This position is in Kleber Kaserne, Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Primary Duties Include:
Ø Organize, coordinate, and facilitate Nuclear Weapon Accident Incident (NWAI) response training and exercises.
Ø Synchronize European NWAI lines of effort with partner nations.
Ø Analyze international agreements, plans, and other documents at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels of command.
Ø Assist in the development, maintenance, and presentation of NWAI response courses.
Ø Align and integrate U.S. operational response plans with international response efforts for seamless cooperation.
Ø Integrate new and emerging technologies into NWAI training and exercises.
Ø Review, validate, assess, and assist in the development of national and DoD NWAI response policy and procedures.
Ø Travel as required.
Ø Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Ø Broad understanding of U.S. and NATO nuclear plans and policies.
Ø Bachelors Degree and 15 years of experience.
Ø Experience working at a Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear weapons laboratory is preferred.
Ø Subject Matter Expert (SME) in NWAI response procedures, plans, and policies.
Ø Experience operating in international environments and working with NATO partner organizations.
Ø Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating to senior leadership through briefings, written/verbal correspondence, and other means as necessary.
Ø Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
Ø Top Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
Ø Prior experience working with DTRA programs, specifically within the nuclear enterprise.
Ø Authoring and coordinating applicable training materials.
Ø Ability to problem-solve in a time constrained environment.
Ø Experience producing after action reports (AARs).
