What You Will Do
This position will be filled at either the Nuclear Facilities Field Engineer 1 or 2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
Nuclear Facilities Field Engineer 1 ($92,300 - $151,000)
The Field Engineer 1 is responsible for ensuring that the technical aspects of construction and maintenance projects are executed in full conformance with the Approved Project Documents by monitoring facility maintenance and construction activities. This is accomplished by providing input during scoping, design, execution, and project closeout to ensure baseline documents are accurate, design documents are adhered to, and as-built configurations are verified. Field Engineers expedite project execution by identifying issues, coordinating technical solutions, and providing timely guidance to the constructor through approved procedures. The level 1 Field Engineer will require a basic understanding of field engineering principles and have an aptitude to apply these principles in the execution of the job.
Nuclear Facilities Field Engineer 2 ($101,700 - $168,200)
In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level, the level 2 Field Engineer will require a demonstrated understanding of field engineering principles and have applied these principles on the job.

Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university and a minimum of 3 years of practical work experience necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above. Advanced engineering or technical degree is highly desired. Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desirable.

- Experience with design and/or installation of facility and infrastructure systems.
- Awareness of industry, regulatory, or Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) codes, standards, and criteria pertinent to the particular construction discipline.
- Knowledge of DOE and LANL Engineering Standards and Conduct of Engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to review material take-offs against project documents to ensure compliance with design and specifications.
