Power Generation Equipment Operator

General Overview: The operator is responsible for maintaining uninterrupted power supply to customers, conducting data collection and analysis, resolving equipment malfunctions, and executing routine maintenance duties. Operation of equipment will require an understanding of how engineered electric generation systems are intended to function and the ability to read, understand, and follow procedures. While this role supports electric generation equipment and electronic control devices, direct involvement in electrical or electronic technician duties is not anticipated. The operator will assist electricians, electronics technicians, and rotating equipment technicians during rig-up, rig-down, or while troubleshooting. Routine tasks include equipment visual inspections, job reporting, client communication, and internal communication of equipment and job status. This is a rotational job with 100% travel expected.

Responsibilities:

- Adhere to client and company safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and maintain a secure working environment.
- Ensure strict compliance with all environmental regulations and standards, minimizing environmental impact.
Primary Duties - Reliability:
- Operate and monitor mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure reliable and safe power generation.
- Understand operating principles of equipment assigned and ensure client needs are met reliably.
Primary Duties - Quality:
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure adherence to client needs, regulations, and industry best practices throughout all operational phases.
- Report incidents through the proper channels using computer-based systems.
Troubleshooting:
- Identify and promptly resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
- Possess an understanding of equipment operating principles to prevent the recurrence of common issues.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of power generation activities, including routine equipment readings and process parameters.
- Utilize electronic systems for recording operations, reporting problems, and controlling power generation equipment.
Collaboration:
- Foster positive working relationships with client personnel, company peers and management, and associated third parties.
- Provide regular verbal and written updates to stakeholders and address their concerns promptly and professionally.
- Operations Improvement:
- Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity in power generation operations.
Other Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
- 5 years or more years of experience in heavy industry
- 3 Years of hydraulic fracturing experience preferred.
- Proven experience in equipment operation - power generation or electric hydraulic fracturing preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in record-keeping and documentation.
- Demonstrated experience in leading or participating in process improvement projects is preferred.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
- Proficiency with computers, email, data collection tools
- Must be able to perform duties safely.
- Must be able to work in adverse working conditions such as heat, wet, cold, noise, etc.
- Strong communication skills
- Must be available for up to 100% of travel
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Repetitive movements of both hands and both feet
