Job Summary
The Cost Analyst will support the onshore operations teams and is responsible for developing, implementing, and updating the tools and systems necessary to effectively support Operations. The position will provide the necessary transparency and feasibility in coordination with accounting and management information systems to facilitate meeting company performance and financial goals.
The Cost Analyst will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote.

The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Prepares financial performance reports for management and associated analysis.
- Performs financial analysis of key business initiatives and strategic objectives.
- Supports finance and planning needs in the Asset
- Coordinate with field personnel to ensure accurate data entry.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for relevant SAP systems and processes to ensure business needs are fulfilled.
- Manage and track all group/team KPI's as required.
- Performs budgeting, forecasting, long range planning and variance review activities.
- Identify and perform gap analysis on variations between actuals versus budgets to advise internal clients accordingly.
- Operate with a high degree of independence and autonomy, demonstrated by strong planning, organizational, time management and decision-making skills
- Implement, administer, and maintain CAPEX and OPEX control processes to track and report project budgets, commitments, expenditures, forecasts, and accruals.
- Perform ad hoc financial support/review as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Engineering
- Minimum 3 years' experience in oil and gas financial and cost analysis within field operations
- Proficiency with SAP required, preferably in modules related to cost management, project systems and financials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Knowledge of applications, technologies, and tools for gathering, reporting, analyzing, and forecasting data, such as Hyperion, Spotfire, etc.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with strong verbal and written communication skills to partner effectively with field operations, engineering, and management
- Working knowledge of cost accounting concepts
- Applied knowledge of planning & cost analysis
