If yes, we would love to see your profile as we are looking for our next intern to join our Credit Analysis team for a 6-month period.
It is an extraordinary occasion to gain real work experience. You will learn about our risk management function and be able to develop an understating of how to identify and assess risk to make business-critical credit decision.
What you will do
The Trading activity accounts for almost 90% of Gas and Power's revenue, representing over £10 billion per annum of delivered natural gas, LNG, power, coal and emissions. Transactions average in excess of 10,000 per month covering both intra-desk and external counterparty deals. The counterparts for these operations and contracts take various forms (such as long-term contracts, forwards, futures, options, swaps, transportation and storage).
You will join the credit team whose role is to assist in the day-to-day management of the counterpart portfolio risk under the Gas and Power sectors mainly. You will be a member of a team of professionals handling over 1.000 counterparties representing billion of US Dollars in credit lines.

TotalEnergies Gas and Power (TGP) is the trading arm of TotalEnergies in the field of low carbon energies. As such, it operates in fast-evolving market dynamics influenced by internal and external factors that require constant adaptation and evolution.
The Trading division in Geneva is responsible for optimising the purchase & sales portfolios of gas, electricity, CO2 emissions, dry bulk, and LNG in all recognised markets worldwide, in compliance with the Company trading guidelines.
In such context, TGP helps to ensure growth and profitability to a key segment of the business in order to reach the objective of Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
The Intern will be working in the Credit Analysis team of TGP and will report to Portfolio & Credit Analytics Manager.

You will assist the team members on its operational activities:
Activity 1
- Goal : Reviewing and establishing credit limits on counter parties in the Gas and Power portfolio.
- Action : Credit risk analysis and preparation of credit risk summary including recommendation on credit limits , terms, and risk mitigation.
- Tools : Familiar with financial and macro analysis techniques.
Activity 2
- Goal : Quantitative credit indicators development
- Action : Assist in ongoing project building, improving and maintaining PFE/CVA metrics for the credit portfolio.
- Tool : Python for development/testing, familiarity with quantitative models.
Activity 3
- Goal : Support the development of the Credit System, Cube, and related functions.
- Action : Intern will be in charge of supporting the portfolio manager in the management of data and supporting new developments.
- Tools : IT literate with some coding knowledge (e.g. Python).
Candidate Profile
- You are pursuing a Finance Master degree and currently enrolled in your final year.
- Having a p revious experience working in a Finance commodity-trading organisation is a plus.
- You have good communication skills, a can-do attitude and demonstrate a genuine team spirit.
- You know how to work in an evolving environment where pressure and urgency are daily occurrences.
- You have strong English verbal and writing skills, French is a plus.
- Knowledge Python is mandatory, Power BI and/or VBA are highly desirable.
