Frontier Economics is an economics consultancy that tackles the big questions facing governments, businesses and society. We help our clients to analyse and understand their markets and to formulate strategies based on sound economics. The methods and models we use are often complex, but our advice is always succinct, clear and honest, giving clients jargon-free opinions and results that can withstand even the closest scrutiny.
The company has grown rapidly since it was founded over 25 years ago and currently has around 500 staff working across seven European offices (London, Cologne, Dublin, Paris, Brussels, Berlin and Madrid). The company is employee-owned and has a strong culture of openness and employee engagement.
We are currently looking for an Energy Modelling Analyst to join our team. We are open to you being based in either Berlin, Cologne, London or Paris.
The energy system optimisation team at Frontier
The energy system optimisation team develops cutting-edge models that offer valuable insights into the increasingly complex landscape of energy systems across various sectors and technologies. As a member of this team, you will engage in every phase of our model-based analyses, including data collection, evaluation, model development, scenario analysis, and communication.
Leveraging Frontier's profound expertise in current energy markets and emerging trends, our models assist industries, policymakers and regulators in shaping future energy systems and achieving climate protection targets both efficiently and reliably.
An overview of your role
Throughout your career at Frontier, you'll be supported by an experienced mentor and your graduate 'buddy'.
About you
If any of the requirements listed do not fully apply to you, but you feel that you could bring a growth mindset to those areas, we still encourage you to apply.
Your impact and development
This is a great opportunity to manage your own time to work both independently and collaboratively with the energy system optimisation team and with other teams across Frontier. You'll be able to share your technical skills with other members of the team, whilst you develop your own skills.
You will gain a deep understanding of the complexities of modern energy systems and learn to build fit-for-purpose models using essential tools such as GAMS and Python. Additionally, you will enhance your ability to effectively communicate and simplify complex concepts for others.

If you would like to apply submit your application now!
Deadline: 31 January 2025
(We would strongly encourage applicants to apply early as the vacancy may close earlier if positions are filled)
