Nuclear Chemist
Key Role:

Immerse yourself in cutting-edge technologies while serving as a strategic technical consultant to our energy clients. As a Nuclear Chemist on our team, you will develop new nuclear fuel cycle technologies by guiding the design, evaluation, and management of government and private sector-sponsored Research and Development (R&D) programs. Your insights will also help inform our clients about emerging nuclear technology needs. You will engage and collaborate with a diverse group of technology experts to leverage rapidly maturing technology from other sectors to create new materials and processing methods to improve the management of nuclear fuel. Basic Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences on research pertaining to nuclear science or engineering
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
  • Doctorate degree in Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Science, or Radiochemistry
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

Additional Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in postdoctoral, academic, or industry roles related to fuel cycle-related technology areas, spent nuclear fuel reprocessing, nuclear fuel fabrication, waste form development, waste disposition, nuclear fuel cycle analyses, or radiochemistry
  • Experience in a consulting or advisory role
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness when dealing with uncertainty and ask insightful questions that challenge traditional thinking
  • Possession of excellent organizational, client service, and analytical skill

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
