Job Purpose
- Lead OPS and ENG Applications team to achieve desired outcomes, resolve complex problems, work under broad direction and is fully accountable for meeting allocated objectives and establishes milestones.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s) - I
- Role is concerned to support and enhance complex range of applications focusing on OPS and ENG Applications.
- Major challenge of the position is that it requires a combination of deep understanding of various business processes and technical expertise in the associated business applications and relevant tools and technologies.
Key Job Accountabilities - I
- Plan and allocate the work of technical support team, considering the business demand. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with required standards, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor and manage performance of the system support activities ensuring optimum service levels are maintained and takes action to remedy deficiencies.
- Provide advice and guidance on applications and databases security, licensing, upgrades, backups, disaster recovery needs, etc., to colleagues as required.
- Lead the definition, documentation, and safe execution of medium to large scale projects, engaging with stakeholders and actively participating in all phases of the project. Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues which might impact on the success of the project.
- Provide effective leadership to the team ensuring that effective relationships are built and maintained with relevant internal and external stakeholders to meet organizational goals.
Key Job Accountabilities - II
- Coordinate effectively with business and IT stakeholders to ensure business objectives and requirements are understood and provides a context with which recommended solutions are aligned.
- Support business case development through the identification and definition of business and technical options that will address the business objectives and requirements and the analysis of the costs, benefits, risks, and impacts for each option.
- Specify and design complex software systems ensuring that designs take full account of both functional and non-functional requirements including security and safety-related requirements. Ensure that designs are appropriate for the target implementation and operational support environments.
- Review complex and non-standard situations, provide specialist technical expertise in the Development & Operation of Business Applications, Database Management Systems, Tools & Technologies for dedicated business function.
- Identify threats to the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and relevant compliance of information systems and supports risk and vulnerability assessments of business applications and database management systems to recommend appropriate action.
Person Specification - Minimum Requirement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or information systems discipline.
Knowledge and/or Experience - I
- 10 years' IT experience.
- Prior working experience in leading OPS and ENG applications (Pi Historian, ePTW, IntelaTrac, PMS, Meridium, StarLIMS, Primavera or similar applications used in the Oil & Gas industry).
- Demonstrated experience in developing, customizing, and integrating business applications.
- Demonstrated experience in managing IT applications development/implementation projects.
- Demonstrated experience in IT applications support environment.
- Demonstrated experience in IT applications' risk, security, and continuity management.
- Conversant with relevant IT national and international standards.
- Practical experience in project management and IT Risk and Security.
- Advanced Knowledge of ITIL processes.
Technical and Business Skills - I
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Solid project management skills.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to do code reviews, architectural reviews and design reviews in area of specialization.
- Specialist Level knowledge of at least 2 of the following technical skills; Pi Historian, ePTW, IntelaTrac, PMS, Meridium, StarLIMS, Primavera or similar applications used in the Oil & Gas industry
